Nahur

Sonapur is an urban area in Bhandup, Mumbai, Maharashtra state of India.

Bhandup Vidhan Sabha seat was one of the seats in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in India. It was made defunct after constituency map of India was redrawn in 2008. Now there is a new constituency named Bhandup West which is a segment of Mumbai North East Lok Sabha seat.

Bhandup West is one of the 26 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly constituencies located in the Mumbai Suburban district. For national elections, it is part of the Mumbai North East Lok Sabha constituency along with five other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely Mulund, Ghatkopar West, Ghatkopar East, Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar and Vikhroli in the Mumbai Suburban district.

The Kelkar Education Trust's Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous) (more commonly known as Kelkar College or Vaze College), is a Mumbai University affiliated college located in Mulund East, Mumbai. The college was established by the Kelkar Education Trust in 1984 in memory of its founder trustee, late Shri. Govind Damodar Vaze.

Vani Vidyalaya high school and junior college is located in Mulund West, Mumbai headed by South Indians Organisation. It is one of the oldest junior college in Mulund area. The classes are taught in English. A highly qualified faculty of teachers are there in the school, science and commerce stream. The institution is equipped with a modern lab and a library. A ground is located just in front of the Institution. Mulund railway station is just 500 metres (1,600 ft) from this college. A new structure is currently under construction and is expected to complete over next 1-2 years.

Bhandup (Pronunciation: [bʱaːɳɖup]) is a suburban locality in Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra, India. The name Bhandup is derived from Bhandupeshwar, one of the names of the Hindu god Shiva. An old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Bhandupeshwar Mahadev Mandir, is located in Bhandup (west) near Moti Bai Wadi IDUBS high school. Sonapur signal is north lead line on L.B.S. Marg and south is dockyard colony. Bhandup railway station is on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. A few fast trains stop at Bhandup station, mostly during the peak hours.

Nahur is a railway station on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Nahur railway station falls under the jurisdiction of Central Railways and it was constructed to reduce the distance (between two consecutive train stations) between Bhandup and Mulund railway stations, which was quite large. Nahur has also helped in reducing the congestion in these stations, especially during the peak hours. Only slow trains halt at Nahur, as it currently doesn't have the provisions (or the need) to introduce platforms for fast trains. Nahur station was officially inaugurated on 21 April 2006. Nahur station has been a catalyst in Bhandup's development, catering to the needs of those living in Bhandup East, as well as those near the Airoli Link road. This is also the nearest railway station on the Central Railway connecting to Airoli in New Mumbai. It can also be approached from Bhandup Station from either side. East and West of Nahur station are connected though the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road.

Mulund (Pronunciation: [muluɳɖ]) is a suburb in the north-east of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is also a railway station on the Central Railway line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. It is also the first railway station of Mumbai Suburban district on the central railway line. After this, Thane railway station comes under Thane district. It is nestled alongside the foothills of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park with easy access to the Eastern Express Highway and Navi Mumbai through the Mulund-Airoli Bridge. Mulund marks the end of Mumbai city.

Mulund College of Commerce, popularly known by the acronym MCC, is a college established and managed by Parle Tilak Vidyalay Association. The college is situated on the north-eastern boundary of Mumbai, in a suburb called Mulund. The college was founded in 1970 and counts Shri Babasaheb Pethe and Shri Baburao Paranjpe among its founders. The junior college wing was started in 1976.
