Mulund

Patlipada, previously a village in the Indian state of Maharashtra, is now a part of Thane city. It has a residential complex and the official residence of the Thane Municipal Commissioner.

Vani Vidyalaya high school and junior college is located in Mulund West, Mumbai headed by South Indians Organisation. It is one of the oldest junior college in Mulund area. The classes are taught in English. A highly qualified faculty of teachers are there in the school, science and commerce stream. The institution is equipped with a modern lab and a library. A ground is located just in front of the Institution. Mulund railway station is just 500 metres (1,600 ft) from this college. Mulund College of Commerce, popularly known by the acronym MCC, is a college established and managed by Parle Tilak Vidyalay Association. The college is situated on the north-eastern boundary of Mumbai, in a suburb called Mulund. The college was founded in 1970 and counts Shri Babasaheb Pethe and Shri Baburao Paranjpe among its founders. The junior college wing was started in 1976. In the last five decades the college has developed from being a commerce college to one which offer higher education in multiple disciplines including science, management and media studies. The college offers 5 PG courses and has a research center in the subject of Business Economics. The college has been granted autonomous status in the year 2021. The college was awarded "Best College" status by University of Mumbai, in urban category, in the year 2012–13. It has been ranked A grade in all its three cycles of NAAC accreditation. The college is known for its distinguished alumni and has been one of the most preferred colleges among CA aspirants. The National Service Scheme unit of the college has been adjudged as the best NSS unit in urban category by University of Mumbai in the year 2018–19. The Theatre, cultural and sports wing of the college are also renowned for their work. The Kelkar Education Trust's Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous) (more commonly known as Kelkar College or Vaze College), is a Mumbai University affiliated college located in Mulund East, Mumbai. The college was established by the Kelkar Education Trust in 1984 in memory of its founder trustee, late Shri. Govind Damodar Vaze.

Wamanrao Muranjan Madhyamik Vidyalaya & Junior College is a co-educational day school in Mulund East, Mumbai, located near city boundary. It takes 20 minutes to reach the college from Mulund station. With origins from 1955, it was the one of the most prestigious Marathi medium schools in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai. Railadevi Lake (or Railadevi Talav) is an 8 hectares (20 acres) lake situated in the city of Thane in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is one of 35 lakes in Thane, which is known as the "city of lakes". Raila Devi Lake is located on Road number 4, Wagle Estate, Raheja Gardens, Thane. The lake is about 3. 3 km away from Thane railway station which is the nearest railway station. This lake is less known to the people so it is a less crowded place. The place is famous among the visitors for its serene atmosphere. It is photogenic place with lush greenery, so one can capture some beautiful moments here. One can also enjoy boating in the lake which is an enthralling experience. Raila Devi Lake is an ideal spot for picnic and the weather and altitude is perfect for camping. It is here that people from all age groups come to enjoy the scenery. With an approximate area of 8 hectares, being at the heart of the city and having a rich history, it is an ideal destination for leisure activities for the locals. There are lot of fishes in the lake and is visited frequently by aquatic birds. There are aquatic plants growing over the lake. A walkway has also been built on the lake to get a better view. Raila Devi Lake can be visited during timings 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. There is no entry fee and one can visit this place on any day.
