Holy Cross High School is a co-educational Catholic high school located in Flushing, in the New York City borough of Queens. Formerly a boys' school, the school began to admit girls from the 2018–19 academic year. Founded in 1955, Holy Cross High School was chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, the school is sponsored by the Brothers of Holy Cross. There is a 98% college placement rate. The School's team is the Holy Cross Knights and the school's athletic archrival is the St. Francis Preparatory School Terriers. Since they are both located on Francis Lewis Boulevard approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) apart, when they play each other the game is called the Battle of the Boulevard.

Old Town of Flushing Burial Ground is a historic cemetery located in Flushing, Queens, New York City. It was established in 1840 and known as The Olde Towne of Flushing Burial Ground. It was the result of Cholera and Smallpox epidemics in 1840 and 1844, added by town elders north of Flushing Cemetery due to fears of contamination of church burial grounds. Once known as "Pauper Burial Ground", "Colored Cemetery of Flushing" and "Martins Field", it was purchased by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation on December 2, 1914, and renamed in 2009 to "The Olde Towne of Flushing Burial Ground".It is co-located with a children's playground called "Martin’s Field". The cemetery's recognition and status as a Queens landmark was spearheaded by local community activist Mandingo Osceola Tshaka, who became interested in the cemetery when he discovered that members from the Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church of Flushing were buried there. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.

Broadway–Flushing is a historic district and residential subsection of Flushing, Queens, New York City. The neighborhood comprises approximately 2,300 homes. It is located between 155th and 170th Streets to the west and east respectively, and is bounded on the north by Bayside and 29th Avenues, and on the south by Northern Boulevard and Crocheron Avenue. William M. Feehan Triangle is a 0.032-acre (130 m2) public green space in the Broadway-Flushing neighborhood of Queens, New York. It is bound by Bayside Lane, 164th Street, and 27th Avenue. The triangle’s shape is the result of the street grid imposed on the once-rural landscape of Flushing in the 1920s. Bayside Lane predates the grid, cutting across its numbered streets and avenues in a diagonal path. The park is landscaped with trees and shrubs. In 2002, the New York City Council passed legislation to name the triangle for William M. Feehan.This triangle honors William M. Feehan (1929-2001) who once lived near this triangle. Feehan was the First Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) at the time of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. A son of a firefighter, Feehan was born in Long Island City and graduated from Saint John's University in 1952. His studies were interrupted for military service during the Korean War. In 1959, he was accepted into the Fire Department for what became his career, and rose through every rank of FDNY over the course of nearly four decades. On September 11, 2001, Feehan was the oldest among the 343 FDNY personnel who died.

Parsons Hospital was "a small proprietary hospital in Queens" that was transformed into one focused to serving a local largely immigrant population. The hospital, which opened in 1963, closed in 1988, two years after it "was purchased by Asian American doctors."
