Metrotown is a town centre serving the southwest quadrant of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the city's four officially designated town centres, as well as one of Metro Vancouver's regional town centres. It is the central business district of the City of Burnaby.As officially defined by the City of Burnaby, the town centre is bounded on the west by Boundary Road (taking in Central Park), on the south by Imperial Street, on the east by Royal Oak Avenue, and on the north by a series of local streets (Thurston, Bond, Grange and Dover streets), giving an area of 2.97 km2 (730 acres). Kingsway forms the central commercial spine for the neighbourhood, and is paralleled to the south by the SkyTrain tracks running alongside Central Boulevard. The area is served by Patterson and Metrotown SkyTrain stations, while Royal Oak station sits just beyond the southeastern limits of the district. The area is characterised by its many high rise commercial and residential buildings.

Metrotown is an elevated station on the Expo Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system, and is located along Central Boulevard, directly across from the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre, in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. As of 2019, it is the second-busiest station in the SkyTrain system.

The Crystal Mall (Traditional Chinese: 麗晶廣場) is an ethnic shopping mall oriented towards the local Chinese community in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It is located at 4500 Kingsway at the intersection with Willingdon Avenue in Metrotown, directly adjoined to the Hilton Metrotown Vancouver Hotel. A 26 floor residential tower called Residence at the Crystal was also constructed that connects to the rest of the shopping complex.It is also across from the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre and the Bob Prittie Metrotown Burnaby Public Library branch.

Sovereign is a skyscraper in Metrotown, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, designed and built by Bosa Properties Inc. on Willingdon Avenue and Kingsway. The building is located northwest of Metrotown and stands at 511 feet (156 m) tall. It has 45 storeys which include hotel and residence space. Sovereign has 202 luxury residences in the upper part of the structure and 169 hotel rooms in the lower part. It also includes 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2) of retail space. It previously held the title of the tallest building in Burnaby, but has been surpassed by Altus in the Solo District, with the phase two building being 616 feet (188 m) tall.

Metropolis at Metrotown (commonly referred to as Metrotown) is a three-storey shopping mall complex in the Metrotown area of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Opened in 1986, it is the largest mall in British Columbia and the third-largest in Canada, behind Alberta's West Edmonton Mall and Ontario's Square One Shopping Centre, with 27 million customer visits annually. The mall is located adjacent to Metrotown station on the SkyTrain rapid transit system. Three office buildings are part of the complex along Central Boulevard.

Maywood is a mainly-rental low-income residential neighborhood in Burnaby, and is a part of the larger Metrotown area. The neighborhood consists of low-rise apartments built during the population boom in the Metrotown area in the 1970s, and 1980s, although the neighborhood is quickly changing. Geographically, the Maywood neighbourhood's boundaries are Grange Street and Kingsway to the north, Nelson Avenue and Bennett and Bonsor Streets to the east, Imperial Street to the south and Boundary Road to the west, and it includes Central Park. According to the 2006 census Maywood has 15,390 people, and is a fast growing immigrant neighbourhood. Maywood takes its name from the elementary school located within it. Maywood also has a large Filipino Canadian population.

Alexander College is a private post-secondary institution in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It was established in 2006 under the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education.The college offers undergraduate degree and transfer programs including University Transfer, Associate of Arts degrees and Associate of Science degrees. Marlborough is a neighbourhood in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, located on the southern part of Burnaby. The neighbourhood is bounded by Dover Street, Royal Oak Avenue to the east, Kingsway to the south and Nelson Avenue to the west. It is from walking to Metropolis at Metrotown, making it an attractive area.

South Slope, sometimes referred to as Southern Burnaby, is a mainly single-family neighborhood in Burnaby in British Columbia, Canada, just southeast of Metrotown. It borders Suncrest, an all single-family home neighbourhood to the west, and goes as far east as Edmonds. Although the northern boundary of South Slope is Rumble Street, many residents north of the street consider themselves living in South Slope, including South Slope Elementary, and Burnaby South Secondary School. The neighbourhood gets its name from the steep slope it is located on. The neighbourhood is one of the oldest parts of the city, which can be seen be seen in Nelson Elementary, which is over a hundred years old, and dozens of Heritage Homes.
