The Bryan County School District is a public school district in Bryan County, Georgia, United States, based in Black Creek. It serves the communities of Belfast, Black Creek, Blitchton, Ellabell, Keller, Pembroke, and Richmond Hill. The Superintendent of the district is Paul Brooksher It is the designated school district for grades K-12 for the county, except parts in Fort Stewart. Fort Stewart has the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) as its local school district, for the elementary level. Students at the secondary level on Fort Stewart attend public schools operated by county school districts.

It is on the outskirts of Savannah, It is located on Georgia Route 204 about 7 miles (11 km) east of Pembroke, Georgia, and about 23 miles (37 km) west of Savannah. The community is centered around an intersection of GA SR 204 and Black Creek Church Road, which is a county road. The Georgia Central Railway which runs parallel to GA SR 204 (until a point about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Ellabell) also passes through Ellabell. Ellabell is the location of Glen Echo, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Ellabell is located in the Savannah metropolitan area. Ellabell, Georgia, shares zip code 31308 with the other surrounding unincorporated communities of Blitchton, Georgia, and Black Creek, Georgia. According to the Census Bureau the population for the combined area was 7,353 in 2017.

It is located along U.S. Route 280, 2 miles (3 km) southwest of Interstate 16 and 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Pembroke. Black Creek is the location of the arms manufacturer Daniel Defense, as well as Orafol Americas, Pressure Sensitive Vinyl Film Company, the fishing bait company Black Creek Baitz,.

Glen Echo is a historic plantation house near Ellabell, Georgia, United States. The house was built circa 1773 and is an early example of Plantation Plain style. Records show that the land of Glen Echo Plantation was granted in the colonial era through a king's grant to a member of the Bird family. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Bryan County High School is a public high school in Pembroke, Georgia, United States. The school mascot is the Redskin. The current campus opened in the 1985–86 school year, and is connected to Bryan County Middle School. The current principal is Russ Winter, who has served since the 2023-24 school year.

WSVH (91.1 FM) is a 96,000-watt public radio station broadcasting from Savannah, Georgia, and transmitting from the WVAN-TV 9 (GPB TV) tower to the west in Pembroke, Georgia, north of Fort Stewart. It provides the radio service of Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) serves the upper Georgia coast and areas well inland, and adjacent areas of far southern South Carolina. The station's signal is simulcast by GPB-owned WWIO-FM 88.9 in Brunswick, Georgia. Together, the two stations serve the entire Georgia coastline. Their signals can be heard from Beaufort, South Carolina to Fernandina Beach, Florida.

The Bryan County Courthouse is located in Pembroke, Georgia and was built in 1938 in the Neoclassical Revival style, after Pembroke became the county seat of Bryan County in 1937. It is the third courthouse built for the county. The interior of the building has a cross plan, with entrances on all four sides. Annexes were built in 1969, 1990, and 1993. At the time of construction, it was the most modern and elaborate building in the city.The courthouse is one of 19 courthouses built in Georgia between 1930 and 1945. It is one of seven Georgia courthouses from that period that are not documented as having been funded by depression-era federal government programs. However, the establishment of Fort Stewart caused the county seat to be moved, so the Department of Defense probably covered the cost.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It is also part of the Pembroke Historic District, on the NRHP. The courthouse was damaged on April 5, 2022, when a tornado touched down near the courthouse and passed through the city of Pembroke at EF2 intensity. The tornado went on to strike Black Creek at mid-range EF4 intensity, killing one person and injuring 12 others.

Black Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is a tributary to the Ogeechee River. Black Creek's name is an accurate preservation of its native Creek name, Weelustee ("black water"). A variant name was "Weelustie Creek".

The Meldrim trestle disaster occurred at Meldrim, Georgia, on June 28, 1959. Involved was a Seaboard Air Line mixed freight train that derailed over the Ogeechee River. Loaded LPG tank cars from the train plunged into the river below and ruptured. Blitchton is located about 25 miles west of Savannah, Georgia, and 2 miles northeast of Interstate 16. It is centrally located where U.S. Route 280 ends at an intersection with U.S. Route 80, Georgia State Route 26, and Georgia State Route 30.
