Clyde is an extinct town in Bryan County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.

WEAS-FM (93.1 MHz, "E93") is a mainstream urban radio station licensed to Springfield, Georgia, but serving the Savannah Area. The station is owned by Cumulus Media. Its studios are located on Television Circle in Savannah and utilizes a transmitter located west of the city in unincorporated Chatham County. WEAS(FM) began operation in 1968 as an easy listening station to counter the country music format of the sister AM station (which had formerly been WJIV, with an R&B format, until 1960, and later as WEAS with the country format); the station's format was freeform progressive rock in the early part of the next decade. By the mid-1970s, the FM station switched to a similar urban format as today, as did the sister AM station, prior to it being sold and changed to a sports information station. The AM and FM stations were used to be owned by E.D. "Dee" Rivers, Jr, son of a former governor of Georgia. WEAS-FM was licensed to Savannah, but moved to Springfield in order to allow WTYB to move to Tybee Island, in the Savannah metropolitan area. The station has historically targeted the African-American population in the Savannah area. WEAS-FM was automated in its first few years, but changed to a live DJ when the format was changed from Easy Listening to R&B.

Ellabell is an unincorporated community in Bryan County, Georgia, United States. It is on the outskirts of Savannah, It is located on Georgia Route 204 about 7 miles (11 km) east of Pembroke, Georgia, and about 23 miles (37 km) west of Savannah. The community is centered around an intersection of GA SR 204 and Black Creek Church Road, which is a county road. The Georgia Central Railway which runs parallel to GA SR 204 (until a point about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Ellabell) also passes through Ellabell. Ellabell is the location of Glen Echo, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Ellabell is located in the Savannah metropolitan area. Ellabell, Georgia, shares zip code 31308 with the other surrounding unincorporated communities of Blitchton, Georgia, and Black Creek, Georgia. According to the Census Bureau the population for the combined area was 7,353 in 2017.

Glen Echo is a historic plantation house near Ellabell, Georgia, United States. The house was built circa 1773 and is an early example of Plantation Plain style. Records show that the land of Glen Echo Plantation was granted in the colonial era through a king's grant to a member of the Bird family. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Meldrim trestle disaster occurred at Meldrim, Georgia, on June 28, 1959. Involved was a Seaboard Air Line mixed freight train that derailed over the Ogeechee River. Loaded LPG tank cars from the train plunged into the river below and ruptured. The resulting explosion and fire killed 23 people--including entire families and a woman who was eight months pregnant--who were at the river that day as it was a popular area to swim and picnic at.The derailment was caused by the movement of rails on the trestle due to heat-related expansion, resulting in wheels of one car dropping between the rails.An ICC investigation faulted the railroad for not installing guard rails along the trestle, which might have helped to keep the derailed equipment on the trestle deck, minimizing the risk of a hazardous materials release.Killed were the following: Jimmy Anderson Elizabeth Dixon Barnes Ted Barnes Julian Beasley Linda Beasley Reba Lamb Beasley Michael Bland Charles Carpenter Billy Dent Joan Dent Frank Dixon Edna Dixon Barbara Hales Claudia Johnson L.B.
