The Westerbecker Berg is a forested hill in the Teutoburg Forest and, at 236 m above sea level (NHN), the highest point in Tecklenburg Land, the county of Steinfurt and the administrative region of Münster in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Hüggel is a ridge, up to 225.6 m above sea level (NN), about 5 kilometres long and 1 kilometre wide, near Hasbergen in the Lower Saxon district of Osnabrück in central Germany. It is the highest point of the Osnabrück Uplands. This Upper Carboniferous outcrop is part of the Ibbenbüren Coalfield.

Hagen (also Hagen am Teutoburger Wald) is a municipality in the district of Osnabrück, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated in the Teutoburg Forest, approx. 10 km southwest of Osnabrück.

Atter is a district in the west of Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany, with a population of 4,135 residents across 2,030 households (as of late 2008). Covering an area of 1,075.9 hectares, it was incorporated into the city of Osnabrück on 1 July 1972. The districts on which it borders are Eversburg (NE), Westerberg (SE), and Hellern (S). On the west it borders on the municipality of Lotte in North Rhine-Westphalia; Autobahn 1 also passes through this area. The border with Westerberg runs through the Rubbenbruchsee, a local recreation area. Atter is home to the Attersee, the Protestant Stephanuskirche and Gut Leye (the Leye estate) which has its own Roman Catholic chapel. The Reformed Protestant Atterkirche was closed down due to financial difficulties. Atter’s cemetery is the smallest in Osnabrück, covering an area of around 10,000 m². Situated in the Leyer Holz north of the district’s centre, it was originally built in 1913. The former site of the Quebec Barracks covers an area of 370,410 m². Decommissioned in 2008, it used to serve as the headquarters of the British Army in Germany (formerly the British Army of the Rhine. 107 housing units in Atter – mostly built during the 1950s and 1960s – were used by relatives of British soldiers in the area.

The Atterheide Airfield is an airfield in the Atter district of Osnabrück, a short distance from the border between the states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.

Hellern is a district of Osnabrück with roughly 6,800 residents, located on the western and south-western borders of the city. It is bordered by the Atter, Westernerg, Weststadt, Wüste and Sutthausen districts; on its west and south-west it borders on the municipality of Lotte in North Rhine-Westphalia and also Hasbergen in the surrounding district of Osnabrück. Hellern is located in the valley of the small Düte river.

Lienen is a municipality in the district of Steinfurt, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated approximately 15 km south-east of Osnabrück and 30 km north-east of Münster. Lienen is a sister city with Saint Marys, Ohio in the United States. Lienen's neighboring municipalities, Ladbergen and Lengerich, are sister cities with Saint Marys' neighbors New Knoxville and Wapakoneta, respectively.

The Rubbenbruchsee is an artificial lake on the western side of Osnabrück, Germany, which comprises part of a larger local recreation area. It covers an area of roughly 24 hectares and has a length of about one kilometre. Its width varies from around 100 to 300 metres, its depth from 2 to 24 metres.
