Brixton Hill

The Family School at Larkhall was a small, alternative school, based in South London, UK, founded by Polly Griffiths in 2007/8 to offer a Democratic education model to primary age children. The school closed in December 2012. The Family School was in the Free Schools tradition, with no set curriculum, working on the basis that children are natural learners. The school was a charity, "reluctantly fee-paying", to quote its literature.

The Windmill is a pub and live music venue in Brixton, London, England, with a reputation for championing new music. It was voted the third best music venue in London, in a 2012 poll in Time Out magazine, and #7 by The Guardian in 2008, and has been described as "one of the top-10 music venues in the U.K.".

The George IV (also called George Four) was a public house and concert and dance venue at 144 Brixton Hill, in Brixton, London. At the junction with Waterworks Road, the venue in 2007 became the Southside Bar and later the Music Bar. Following its closure in 2012, it became a branch of Tesco.

Corpus Christi Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Brixton, part of the Archdiocese of Southwark within the London Borough of Lambeth. It was previously under the administration of the Society of Jesus whilst remaining part of the Archdiocese. It was founded in 1886, was designed by John Francis Bentley and is a Grade II* listed building.

Rush Common is a linear protected open space and former common land in Brixton, London, England. It was enclosed in 1806 with the sections fronting public highways protected from development as proscribed land. Most of this land now forms private gardens, forecourts and portions on Brixton Hill are a public park managed by Lambeth Council. There have been several encroachments on the protected land, including small sections of St Matthew's Estate and part of St Matthew's Church. Lambeth Council holds enforcement powers to prevent building of permanent structures on the proscribed land.

Trinity Academy is a coeducational Free School, established in 2014. It is located in the Brixton area of the London Borough of Lambeth, England, and caters for pupils aged 11 to 18. The school was judged to be Good by Ofsted in its first inspection in May 2017.Although Trinity Academy is not formally designated as a faith school, it has a Roman Catholic ethos. One of the school's founders, former BBC broadcaster Dennis Sewell, has criticized the Catholic Education Service, for refusing to open any formally designated Catholic free schools due to the 50% rule which limits the number of places that can be reserved for Catholics.Since 2017, the school has been housed in a building next to South Bank Engineering UTC, a University Technical College.

Ashby's Mill, often referred to as Brixton Windmill, is a restored grade II* listed tower mill at Brixton in the London Borough of Lambeth. The mill was in Surrey when built and has been preserved.

South Bank UTC is a University Technical College in Brixton, south London, England. The college opened in September 2016 and has capacity for 600 pupils.

Tulse Hill ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, England. It stretches up from Brixton town centre to the South Circular road. The area contains several large housing estates around Tulse Hill, the road, but does not contain Tulse Hill railway station. At the 2011 Census the population of the Ward was 15,771.

The geographical centre of London is at Frazier Street near Lambeth North tube station, though nearby Charing Cross on the other side of the Thames in the City of Westminster is traditionally considered the centre of London.
