Denver, formerly known as Dry Pond, is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Lincoln County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 2,309.Known as “Dry Pond” until 1873, it was renamed “Denver” (after the capital of the then territory of Colorado) as a marketing and growth strategy directed towards the emerging railroad industry. This change was championed by D. Matt Thompson, a local principal. The town was incorporated as such from 1877 until 1971, when the town lost its charter and was reincorporated back into Lincoln County.

The island is a small, wealthy community located 20 miles northwest of Charlotte, North Carolina, and less than half a mile from mainland Westport in the piedmont of North Carolina. This community is in the Denver, North Carolina zipcode of 28037. The largest subdivision nearby to the north is SailView, a Crescent Community, also in Denver, North Carolina. The total population estimate for the island was less than 200 residents as of 2010. This gated community is home to approximately 40 affluent homeowners.

Vesuvius Furnace is a historic home and iron furnace located between Denver and Iron Station, Lincoln County, North Carolina. The house was built in two sections the older dated to about 1792, with the western section added about 1810–1820. It is a two-story, five bays wide and two deep, frame structure with a one-story shed porch. The furnace was built in 1790, and is constructed of large stone blocks of random sizes, but about half of the square pyramidal structure has fallen down. The furnace is about 20 feet high and is filled with dirt, debris, and vegetation. Vesuvius Furnace was established by General Joseph Graham, who was one of the chief leaders in the 18th and early 19th century production of iron in Lincoln County, and was the father of governor and as secretary of the navy William Alexander Graham.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.In 2009 the home was privately restored and opened as Vesuvius Vineyards, a wine vineyard and wedding venue.

William A. Graham Jr. Farm is a historic home and farm located near Denver and Kidville, Lincoln County, North Carolina. The farmhouse was built about 1890, and is a two-story, three-bay, rectangular frame dwelling. The front facade features a large central gable with ornate gable ornaments. Also located on the property is a two-story, 16-sided, "round barn" with a low, polygonal roof that radiates from an eight-sided blind cupola; log outbuilding; and a smokehouse. The property was the working experimental farmstead after the American Civil War of William A. Graham, Jr. (1839–1923), son of governor and statesman William Alexander Graham (1804–1875).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Ingleside is a historic house located near Iron Station, Lincoln County, North Carolina. It was built about 1817, and is a two-story, five bay by three bay, Federal style brick mansion. The front facade features a pedimented portico supported by four Ionic order stuccoed brick columns. It was built by Congressman Daniel Munroe Forney, son of Congressman Peter Forney.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Marshall Steam Station is a coal power plant located at 35°35′51″N 80°57′53″W in Sherrills Ford, Catawba County, North Carolina, United States and owned by Duke Energy. Named for former company president E.C. Marshall, the station is located on Lake Norman and began commercial operation in 1965. Marshall is the second largest coal facility owned by Duke Energy in the Carolinas. It generates enough electricity (2.09 GW) to power approximately two million homes.

East Lincoln High School is a high school located in Denver, North Carolina. It is a part of the Lincoln County Schools district. The school was established in 1967. Its mascot is the Mustangs. The school colors are orange and green.

Miles Alexander Sherrill House is a historic home located near Sherrills Ford, Catawba County, North Carolina. It was built in 1886, and is a two-story, frame Stick style dwelling. It features irregular massing, steeply pitched gable and shed roofs, and German siding with an overlay of vertical and horizontal boards.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
