Hill–Grainger Historic District, also known as the North Queen Street Area, is a national historic district located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina, USA. It encompasses 172 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Kinston. The buildings include notable examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture and date between 1900 and 1941. Notable buildings include the (former) Grainger High School, Sarahurst (1902-1904), Vernon Hall (1913-1914), (second) H. C. Hines House (1929), Canady-Sutton House (c. 1925), Hobgood-Sparrow House (1926), (first) H. C. Hines House (c. 1917), and the Fields Rasberry House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Grainger Stadium is a sports venue located in Kinston, North Carolina. It is the home ballpark for the Down East Bird Dawgs, which joined the Frontier League for the 2025 season, as well as the annual Freedom Classic between Navy and Air Force. Grainger was previously home to the Down East Wood Ducks, the Kinston Indians and all the professional Kinston baseball teams since 1949.

American Tobacco Company Prizery, also known as the Nantucket Warehouse, is a historic tobacco prizery located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1901 by the American Tobacco Company, and is a two-story, load-bearing brick building that was constructed in five phases beginning about 1901. It was enlarged between 1901 and 1908, and in 1925, 1930 and 1949. It has a complex roof structure and features stepped parapets, large segmental arched openings, and thick, load-bearing masonry walls and heavy slow-burn timber posts.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Kinston is a city in Lenoir County, North Carolina, United States, with a population of 21,677 as of the 2010 census. It has been the county seat of Lenoir County since its formation in 1791. Kinston is located in the coastal plains region of eastern North Carolina. In 2009, Kinston won the All-America City Award. This marks the second time in 21 years the city has won the title.

B. W. Canady House is a historic home located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built about 1883, and is a two-story, "L"-shaped, Italianate style frame dwelling. It has a gable roof, gabled two-story projecting central entrance bay, and one-story rear wing. It features a wraparound front porch, pendant eave brackets, a paneled frieze, and tall brick interior chimneys with elaborate panelled stacks and corbelled caps.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Hotel Kinston is a historic hotel building located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927–1928, and is an 11-story, steel frame Art Deco style building. It is sheathed in red brick with cast stone Moorish stylistic details at the main entrance and top floors. It was operated as a hotel until the 1960s. It houses senior citizen apartments.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Kinston Baptist-White Rock Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian and Baptist church building located at 516 Thompson Street in Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1857–1858, and is a rectangular, temple-form Greek Revival style frame building with a pedimented front gable roof. It features a bold distyle in antis portico with enclosed end bays. The church was built for the Kinston Baptist Church and moved to its present (third) location in 1901 after its purchase by an African-American Presbyterian congregation (White Rock Church) which it has served since that time. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Sumrell and McCoy Building is a historic commercial / industrial building located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1910, and is a two-story and basement brick structure of heavy post and beam construction, using both wood and steel members. It features a raised parapet, topped by tile coping. The building measures 30,000 square feet and housed a wholesale grocery business.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

It encompasses 204 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Kinston. The buildings include notable examples of Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture and date between 1885 and 1941. Notable buildings include the Adolphus Mitchell House (c. 1885), W. A. Mitchell House (c. 1905), Luther P. Tapp House (c. 1916), H. B. W. Canady House, and Robert B. Scott Bouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad Freight Depot was a historic freight depot located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1900 by the Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad, and is a two-story Romanesque style building faced in tan brick. It had a standing seam tin gable roof with a monitor roof and 11 freight bays.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 but nevertheless was razed in 2009.

Kinston Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It encompasses 30 contributing buildings in a mixed commercial and industrial section of Kinston. The district is considered a boundary increase to the previously listed Queen-Gordon Streets Historic District. The buildings include notable examples of Art Deco and Romanesque style architecture and date between 1896 and 1941. Notable buildings include the Carolina Theatre (1935), Cash Supply Store Building (c. 1914), Spence Motor Company Building, and Ellis Carriage Factory (1908-1914).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

UNC Health Lenoir is a not-for-profit hospital located in Kinston, North Carolina. The hospital is licensed for 199 beds and serves the residents of Lenoir, Greene and Jones and other surrounding counties. The hospital is staffed with over 100 physicians. The hospital offers inpatient, outpatient and preventive healthcare services. In addition, the hospital offers free educational health programs, seminars, and screenings. General services include general medical, surgical, obstetrical and gynecological care. Specialized services include cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, radiology, urology, orthopedics and orthopedic sports medicine, bariatric surgery and vascular surgery In 1986, the Lenoir Memorial Foundation was established. In 1965, the old Lenoir Memorial Hospital was outdated and too small to serve the growing community of Kinston and Lenoir County, and expansion or renovation was deemed unsatisfactory. In June 1973, a new $11 million, 435-bed facility opened.
