B. W. Canady House

Hotel Kinston is a historic hotel building located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927–1928, and is an 11-story, steel frame Art Deco style building. It is sheathed in red brick with cast stone Moorish stylistic details at the main entrance and top floors. It was operated as a hotel until the 1960s. It houses senior citizen apartments.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

It was built in 1910, and is a two-story and basement brick structure of heavy post and beam construction, using both wood and steel members. It features a raised parapet, topped by tile coping. The building measures 30,000 square feet and housed a wholesale grocery business.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

American Tobacco Company Prizery, also known as the Nantucket Warehouse, is a historic tobacco prizery located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1901 by the American Tobacco Company, and is a two-story, load-bearing brick building that was constructed in five phases beginning about 1901. It was enlarged between 1901 and 1908, and in 1925, 1930 and 1949. It has a complex roof structure and features stepped parapets, large segmental arched openings, and thick, load-bearing masonry walls and heavy slow-burn timber posts.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad Freight Depot was a historic freight depot located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1900 by the Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad, and is a two-story Romanesque style building faced in tan brick. It had a standing seam tin gable roof with a monitor roof and 11 freight bays.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 but nevertheless was razed in 2009.

Notable buildings include the Carolina Theatre (1935), Cash Supply Store Building (c. 1914), Spence Motor Company Building, and Ellis Carriage Factory (1908-1914).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Notable buildings include the Gordon Street Christian Church (1912-1915), (former) U. S. Post Office/Federal Building (1915), Citizens / First National Bank Building (1903), (former) Farmers and Merchants Bank (1924), Canady Building (1899), and the LaRoque and Hewitt Building (c. 1900).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The Kinston Commercial Historic District is considered a boundary increase to the Queen–Gordon Streets Historic District.

It encompasses 172 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Kinston. The buildings include notable examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture and date between 1900 and 1941. Notable buildings include the (former) Grainger High School, Sarahurst (1902-1904), Vernon Hall (1913-1914), (second) H. C. Hines House (1929), Canady-Sutton House (c. 1925), Hobgood-Sparrow House (1926), (first) H. C. Hines House (c. 1917), and the Fields Rasberry House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

CSS Neuse was a steam-powered ironclad ram of the Confederate States Navy that served in the latter part the American Civil War and was eventually scuttled to avoid capture by rapidly advancing Union Army forces. In the early 1960s, she produced approximately 15,000 artifacts from her raised lower hull, the largest number ever found on a recovered Confederate vessel. The remains of her lower hull and a selection of her artifacts are on exhibit in Kinston, North Carolina at the CSS Neuse Interpretive Center State Historic Site, which belongs to the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The ironclad is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Standard Drug No. 2 is a historic commercial building located in Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built between 1918 and 1924, and is a two-story, brick Commercial Style with street level, plate-glass windows. The interior retains an Art Deco-style lunch counter and pressed metal ceiling. Sit-ins were held at the lunch counter in 1960 and 1961, to protest segregation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Kinston Fire Station-City Hall is a historic fire station and city hall located at Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built in 1895, and is a two-story brick structure with a two-story rear wing built in several stages. The main block has a sloping roof with raised parapet. The building was renovated in 1987. It houses the Caswell No. 1 Fire Station Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
