It is used for general aviation and sees one airline, a service subsidized by the federal government's Essential Air Service program at a cost of $2,251,207 per year.The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2021–2025 categorized it as a national/regional airport (the commercial service category requires at least 2,500 enplanements per year).Central Airlines served Harrison starting in 1957; successor Frontier Airlines continued into the 1970s.

Batavia is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Boone County, Arkansas, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 328. Batavia is located on Arkansas Highway 392, 5.0 miles (8.0 km) west-northwest of Harrison. Batavia was formerly an incorporated town. In 1880, Roswell Underwood established the first post office in the former town, which he named Batavia after his hometown of Batavia, New York. The town was laid out in blocks. The first house on Main Street was built in 1912. [Arkansas State Highway 392] is where Main Street was once located. The post office was closed in 1955. During its heyday, businesses included stores, hotels, a canning factory, a train depot, stockyards, mills, a corn gristmill, and a blacksmith shop. There was also a school and churches. By 1926, the passenger railroad stopped going through Batavia. While the community is larger in terms of population and homes than it was as an incorporated town, there are fewer businesses. Batavia township still exists (see township population history) without any current incorporated towns inside of it.

Little Arkansaw (also known as Jennings) is an unincorporated community in Boone County, Arkansas, United States. Little Arkansaw is located on Arkansas Highway 392 near its junction with U.S. Route 62 and U.S. Route 412, 3.1 miles (5.0 km) east of Alpena.

Capps is an unincorporated community in Boone County, Arkansas, United States. Capps is located on Arkansas Highway 392, 4.6 miles (7.4 km) west of Harrison.

Batavia Township is one of 20 current townships in Boone County, Arkansas, USA. As of the 2010 census, its total population was 911. Batavia, Arkansas was settled in 1881 by Roswell Emerson Underwood, who spent four years as a Genesee County, New York, surveyor for the Holland Land Company. He was impressed by the beauty of this site which is located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. He was the first postmaster, and named the town for Batavia, New York, his former residence.

The Harrison High School is a public high school serving ninth through twelve grade students in Harrison, Arkansas, United States. The Old Harrison High School was built in 1912 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. It was designed by architects Harry C. Schwebke and R.D. Pollard in Prairie School and International Style architecture. The building served as the high school until 1952 before becoming the junior high through 1987. Soon thereafter, the site continues to serve the community as the Boone County Heritage Museum operated by the Boone County Historical and Railroad Society.

The city of Harrison is the county seat of Boone County, Arkansas, United States. It is named after Marcus LaRue Harrison, a surveyor who laid out the city along Crooked Creek at Stifler Springs. According to 2019 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city was 13,069, up from 12,943 at the 2010 census and it is the 30th largest city in Arkansas based on official 2019 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. Harrison is the principal city of the Harrison Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Boone and Newton counties. The community has a history of racism: there were two race riots in the early 20th century and an influx of white supremacist organizations during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Because of this, a number of sources have called it "the most racist town in the United States".

The Grubb Springs Community Building, formerly the Grubb Springs School, is a historic school building in Boone County, Arkansas. The building is a single-story stone gable-roofed structure located northeast of the junction of Arkansas Highways 43 and 397, west of Harrison. Construction began on the building in 1892 by the local Methodist congregation, intending its use as a church. The land and unfinished building were sold in 1896 to the local school district, which completed the building. It was used as a school until 1944, and has since been converted into a community center.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. It was deemed significant as a surviving stone one-room schoolhouse example.

KHOZ (900 AM) is a radio station licensed to Harrison, Arkansas, United States. It carries a classic country format. The station is currently owned by Paul Coates and Mike Huckabee, through licensee Ozark Mountain Media Group, LLC.On January 6, 2019, KHOZ changed their format from adult standards to classic country, branded as "Bootz 94.9" (simulcast on FM translator K235CE 94.9 FM Harrison).
