Bank of Gentry

The Carpenter Building is a historic commercial building at 136 East Main Street in Gentry, Arkansas. Built in 1927–29, it is a single-story masonry structure, its exterior finished mainly in red brick and hollow clay tile. A stepped parapet obscures the flat roof, and the front facade is inset with square pier supports, giving the impression of a portico. The interior includes surviving original sections of tin ceilings. The building originally housed a retail grocery, as well as a mortuary and funeral chapel, but has since been repurposed to other uses. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.

The Carl House is a historic house at 70 Main Street in Gentry, Arkansas. It is a 1+1⁄2-story brick building with a flared hip roof and an array of hip-roof and gabled dormers. Its front porch is supported by square brick columns, and its gable is decorated with half-timbering, as are other gable ends. The house was built in 1913 by R. H. Carl, president of a local bank, and is a fine local example of Craftsman/Bungalow architecture. Located on Main Street, the fine architectural details such as the sweep of the roof, the coping around the porch, the irregular plan and the matching ancillaries grab the attention of all who pass. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Gentry is a city in Benton County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 3,790 as of the 2020 census. The city was founded in the Ozark Mountains in 1894 along what would become the Kansas City Southern Railroad. The city's prior prosperity in the orchard industry, especially apples, was further strengthened by the rail connection. Following the decline of the apple industry in the 1930s, Gentry shifted its economy towards poultry along with many other areas of Northwest Arkansas.

The Gentry Grand Army of the Republic Memorial is an American Civil War monument in the northeast section of Gentry Cemetery in Gentry, Arkansas. It is a limestone structure with Classical Revival features, consisting of a stepped square base, a tier of marble panels framed by round columns, and a tapered obelisk topped by a carved capital and round knob. Two of the marble panels are inscribed with the names of soldiers who served in the Union Army. The monument was installed in 1918 through the efforts of David Kost, a Civil War veteran who organized Gentry's chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). It is one of a relatively small number of GAR memorials in the state (as compared to a larger number of Confederate memorials).The monument was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Flint Creek Power Plant is a base load, coal fired, electrical power station located west of Gentry, Arkansas in Benton County, Arkansas. The lone unit uses coal mined from the Powder River Basin shipped via Kansas City Southern Railway. The output is owned jointly half and half by SWEPCO/AEP and Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp.As part of the project, SWEPCO constructed a 100’ high dam on Little Flint Creek to create a reservoir to provide cooling water to the plant. The reservoir, known as Lake Flint Creek or SWEPCO Lake, provides fishing opportunities and is open to the public.

Lake Flint Creek, also known as SWEPCO Lake, is located about five miles north of the City of Siloam Springs in Benton County, Arkansas. It was made by constructing a 100’ high dam on Little Flint Creek in the 1975-1978 timeframe, creating a lake of about 500 acres.The lake is owned by Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), which built it to provide cooling water to its Flint Creek Power Plant. Water flows back into the lake at 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which in turn provides a warmer water environment for fish than most Arkansas lakes. SWEPCO allows public access to the lake, and the surroundings include a boat ramp. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission promotes fishing there through stocking and helping to build fish habitat. Fish species include Florida largemouth bass as well as Northern largemouth bass.

Bloomfield is an unincorporated community in Benton County, Arkansas, United States.A post office called Bloomfield was established in 1875, and remained in operation until 1904. The town site was platted around the time the post office was established.

Sager Creek is a 13.4-mile-long (21.6 km) creek which runs through downtown Siloam Springs, Arkansas, in the United States. It is a tributary of Flint Creek, which flows to the Illinois River, which in turn flows to the Arkansas River and thus is part of the Mississippi River watershed. Sager Creek is named after the man largely thought to be the founder of Siloam Springs, Simon Sager.

Siloam Springs Lake, also known as City Lake, is located about 3 miles north of central Siloam Springs in Benton County, Arkansas. It is fed by Flint Creek, a stream that forms around Springtown, Arkansas and flows generally southwest into Oklahoma. The creek eventually flows into the Illinois River. Normally the creek is crystal clear and flows year-round.Popular fish caught in Siloam Springs Lake include carp, rock bass, sunfish, catfish, yellow bass, largemouth bass and bream/bluegill.The lake is owned by the City of Siloam Springs. It is part of the 165-acre City Lake Park. The master plan for the park, approved in December 2016, includes stacked loops of walking and cycling trails over a variety of topography and ecological systems.
