It is a 2 1/2-story, five bay Colonial Revival style brick building. The theater auditorium has 650 seats, including the auditorium and the balcony. The Colonial Theater has been renovated and is now used for concerts, movies, and plays.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It is located in the Canton Main Street Historic District.

Other notable buildings include the P L & S Building (1932), Champion Fibre Company Office Building (1918), Champion Bank and Trust (c. 1925), Imperial Hotel (c. 1885; additions 1916 and 1925), and the former United States Post Office (1939).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Shook-Welch-Smathers House is a historic home located at Clyde, Haywood County, North Carolina. It was built over three principal periods of construction in the 19th century: c. 1810–1820; c. 1840–1860; and c. 1890–1900. It is a two-story, frame dwelling sheathed in weatherboard and exhibits Georgian and Late Victorian style design elements. It features a full-facade double-tier porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.The house is home to the Shook Museum, operated by the Haywood County Historical and Genealogical Society.

Established in 1965, the college offers associate degree programs and online courses in programs such as forestry, fish and wildlife management, and professional crafts. The college's 120-acre (49 ha) campus includes an arboretum, a mill pond, and a working gristmill constructed by students.

The Mount Zion United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church located near Crabtree, Haywood County, North Carolina. It was built in 1883, and is a three bay by four bay rectangular gable front brick church. The church has been altered significantly during three separate rehabilitation projects undertaken since 1950. It is probably the oldest church building remaining in Haywood County.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
