Congregation Sherith Israel (transliterated from Hebrew as "loyal remnant of Israel") is a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located in San Francisco, California, in the United States. Founded in 1851 during California’s Gold Rush period, it is one of the oldest synagogues in the United States. In more modern times, the congregation widely known for its innovative approach to worship and lifecycle celebrations. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, its historic sanctuary building, completed in 1905, is one of San Francisco's most prominent architectural landmarks.The synagogue was a principal site of the San Francisco graft prosecution trials held between 1905 and 1908.

Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) is a general medical/surgical and teaching hospital in San Francisco, California. It was created by a merger of some of the city's longest established hospitals and currently operates three acute care campuses.Its primary campuses in San Francisco are the Van Ness Campus in The Tenderloin, the Davies Campus in Duboce Triangle, and the Mission Bernal Campus in the Mission District. The Chambers Mansion is a historic house that was built in 1887, and is located at 2220 Sacramento Street in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California. In 2010, CBS News declared the Chambers Mansion one of the "scariest haunted houses" in the United States, based on stories of its dark history.The house is listed as one of the San Francisco Designated Landmark, since October 5, 1980.

It was formerly known as The Regent, The Avalon, The Clay International, and Landmark's Clay Theatre. It has been listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark since May 6, 2022.

The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute is a nonprofit research institute in San Francisco, California, with a focus on vision science and rehabilitation engineering. It was founded in 1959 by Arthur Jampolsky and Alan B. Scott, when some members of Stanford University's Ophthalmology Department elected to stay in San Francisco rather than move to Palo Alto.

The Madame C.J. Walker Home for Girls and Women, or simply Walker Home, is a historic Italianate building in the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood (or Upper Fillmore) of San Francisco, California, U.S.. From 1921 to 1972, the building housed a charitable, community and social services organization for single African American woman new to San Francisco, who were not eligible to use the YWCA. It is listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark since 1999. The building is now a private residence and is not open to the public.

Arrillaga Musical College was a music college in San Francisco. The school was established and directed by pianist Santiago Arrillaga Ansola, a Basque immigrant. After his death it was run by his son Vincent. Fernando Michelena (1858–1921), a Venezuelan born tenor and the father of Vera Michelena and Beatriz Michelena, also served as its president. It was located at 2315 Jackson Street.Arrillaga came to San Francisco in 1875. San Francisco developed a significant Basque presence with hotels and musical venues.Alumni included Howard E. Couper A.M.The Musical Courier reported on performances at the 1918 commencement. A separate writeup in the same issue described the school as having its own building, an "imposing faculty", and many pupils.

The Fillmore Street Tunnel was a proposed double-bore tunnel approximately 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) long in San Francisco, California which would have carried Fillmore Street and a new streetcar line underneath Pacific Heights and Russian Hill. The proposed tunnel would have connected the Western Addition and Fillmore Districts, near the south portal at Sutter Street, with Marina and Cow Hollow, near the north portal at Filbert Street. One tunnel would have been reserved for railroad and pedestrian traffic, while the parallel tunnel would have been for vehicles. The tunnel was planned, along with the contemporary Twin Peaks and Stockton Street Tunnels, to serve the traffic that was anticipated from the 1914–15 Panama–Pacific International Exposition. The tunnel was first announced in early 1912. However, the preparation of detailed plans and permits delayed the estimated start of construction to July 1914, which meant the tunnel could not be completed in time to service the Exposition, and the project was killed in September 1913.

Calvary Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church in San Francisco, California located in Pacific Heights at the corner of Fillmore Street and Jackson Street. The present building was built in 1901 and features Late 19th And 20th Century Revival architecture and an Edwardian style. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Bush Street–Cottage Row Historic District is a historic district located in the Japantown area of San Francisco, California, U.S.. The area is a residential enclave comprising 20 historical residences, a walkway, and a small park. It is listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark since September 1991, under the name " Bush Street–Cottage Row"; listed as a listed California Historical Landmark since December 27, 1982; and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 27, 1982, for architecture.

The Kitchen is a non-denominational Jewish congregation located in San Francisco, California, in the United States. The congregation was founded by Rabbi Noa Kushner in 2011 following her work at Congregation Rodef Sholom, as part of an effort to "to create something that filled a gap, that met needs that weren’t being met." It describes itself as "one part shabbat + justice + torah community, one part San Francisco experiment and one part tool kit for Jewish life at home." The Kitchen focuses on incubating new ways of helping Jews connect with Jewish religion, text, and practices. It partnered with the design firm IDEO to design the congregation's materials and its services. The Kitchen has also engaged in a range of experimental musical outreach efforts; it received a grant from the Covenant Foundation immediately prior to the pandemic to engage in musical outreach, resulting in the creation of an album collecting communal singing traditions.As of 2015, it had approximately 200 member households.The Kitchen is a member of the Jewish Emergent Network.

The Pacific Heights Residents Association defines the neighborhood as stretching from Union Street to Bush Street in the north–south direction and from Van Ness Avenue to Presidio Avenue in the east–west direction. The San Francisco Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services defines its north–south extent more narrowly, with Green Street and California & Pine Streets serving as its boundaries.In 2013, Pacific Heights was named the most expensive neighborhood in the United States. The article stated that if San Francisco's Pacific Heights had its own zip code, it would be the most expensive place to live in the United States. The 94115 zip code includes both Pacific Heights' "Gold Coast", an area famous for its billionaire residents and record-breaking prices, and "The Western Addition", an area about 20 blocks away where real estate prices are significantly lower. In 2017, Curbed SF again announced the "occasionally chic, hardly affordable, always elite Pacific Heights" as San Francisco's most expensive neighborhood. A $40 million Pacific Heights mansion was listed as San Francisco's most expensive home. Later in the year, Business Insider gave a preview inside San Francisco's most exclusive neighborhood, where old money rubs elbows with tech billionaires. In 2018, Pacific Heights continued to garner accolades and was voted as one of the 15 most prestigious residential neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pacific Heights has also been listed among the top 10 richest neighborhoods in San Francisco.Pacific Heights is situated on a primarily east–west oriented ridge that rises sharply from the Marina District and Cow Hollow neighborhoods to the north to a maximum height of 370 feet (110 m) above sea level. Pacific Heights features two parks, Lafayette and Alta Plaza. Visible to the north are the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, and Alcatraz Island. Visible to the south are Twin Peaks and the Sutro Tower. Lower Pacific Heights refers to the area located south of California Street down to Post Street. While this area was previously considered part of the Western Addition, the new neighborhood designation became popularized by real estate agents in the early 1990s.
