Cowesett is a hillside neighborhood located in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Captain Oliver Gardiner House is a historic house prominently located in Warwick, Rhode Island. Built about 1750, it is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with a gambrel roof. Its main facade has six irregularly-spaced bays, with a centrally positioned entrance. The house is unusual for its period in that it has a large central hallway, a feature not commonly seen until the Federal period. Oliver Gardiner, its first owner, was a ship's captain.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Cowesett Pound is an historic animal pound on Cowesett Road in Warwick, Rhode Island. The pound, a roughly square structure built of unmortared fieldstone four to five feet in height, is estimated to have been built in 1742 by David Greene, although there was an older (probably wooden) pound already at the site. Its walls were probably once topped by capstones, but only one of these survives. The entrance to the pound has a wooden gate added during a 20th-century restoration.The pound was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Chepiwanoxet is a neighborhood in Warwick, Rhode Island, with an island peninsula in Greenwich Bay, an arm of Narragansett Bay. The neighborhood straddles the Amtrak railroad lines, which lies just east of and parallel to the Post Road (US Route 1). Its boundaries are Neptune Street to the North, Alger Avenue to the South, Post Road to the West, and Greenwich Bay to the East. Chepiwanoxet Way, an underpass beneath the Amtrak lines, now serves as the only street access in and out of the neighborhood.Native Americans, who fished its island and shores, named this area between Post Road and Greenwich Bay "Chepiwanoxet." Settled as a colonial farm in early 18th century, it became a beach resort with hotel and shore dinner hall after the Chepiwanoxet railroad station opened in around 1837. Small lots were sold for summer cottages to upstate residents and for homes to workers in nearby Cowesett Hill Estates in late 19th century. Before World War I, the Gallaudet Aircraft Company built a causeway to the island for its seaplane factory. The Chepiwanoxet entrance sign states that Warwick bought the island in 1994 for a city park.

The Governor Greene Cemetery, frequently called the Governor Greene Lot, is designated as Rhode Island Historical Cemetery, Warwick, #40, and is a late colonial cemetery located in Warwick, Rhode Island near the East Greenwich town line. It is a family cemetery with the graves of two Rhode Island governors (father and son), and other prominent politicians who are related to them.

The Greenwich Mills is an historic mill complex at 42 Ladd Street in Warwick, Rhode Island. The complex was developed between 1918 and 1927, and includes four brick structures. The oldest is the weave shed, a single-story structure built in 1918. The office building was built in 1919–20, and is a 3- and 4-story C-shaped structure. This building was designed by Providence architect T. Clarence Herrmann. The finishing mill, built in 1923 and expanded in 1931, is the largest of the complex, and is located at the corner of Blackmore and Ladd Streets. The dye house and boiler house is a single-story structure built in sections in c. 1922 and 1947. The mills were built on a site where industrial activity had been taking place since about 1836. The mills produced worsted wool fabric until 1950, and are now used for a variety of light industrial purposes.The mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Gorton-Greene House, often called the Governor Greene Mansion, is an historic house in Warwick, Rhode Island. The house is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the state. The house was built around 1685. According to the Providence Journal, "This 2½-story, gable-roofed structure has a massive stone chimney. The original structure was built by Samuel Gorton Jr., and was later bought by his niece's husband, Samuel Greene. This was the home of two 18th-century Rhode Island governors..." These governors were William Greene, Sr. and his son William Greene, Jr. The latter had a correspondence with George Washington, who was among the house's famous visitors.

The General James Mitchell Varnum House is an historic house at 57 Peirce Street in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1773 for James Mitchell Varnum, who later served as a general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. It is five bays wide, with two interior brick chimneys. Its main entry is sheltered by a portico supported by fluted Ionic columns and pilasters. A 19th-century addition extends from the rear of the main block. Notable later residents of the house include George A. Brayton, who served as Chief Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. The house was purchased in 1939 by the Varnum Continentals, and has since served as a museum.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Windmill Cottage is a historic house and former windmill at 144 Division Street in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. It was the home of George Washington Greene, a former American consul to Rome and historian. It was purchased for Greene by his friend, the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

The Armory of the Kentish Guards is a historic armory at Armory and Peirce Streets in East Greenwich, Rhode Island and is currently home to the Kentish Guards, a historic Rhode Island Independent Military Organization.

The Kent County Courthouse, now the East Greenwich Town Hall, is a historic court building at 127 Main Street in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Kent County was set off from Providence County in 1750. The same year, a courthouse was constructed in East Greenwich, then the largest town in the new county. By 1799 the courthouse was too small, and the state legislature appointed a committee for the construction of a new building. The old building was sold and dismantled, and a new courthouse built on the site in 1804–05. It was designed and built by Revolutionary war veteran and contractor Oliver Wickes.Rhode Island had an unusual "rotating legislature" from 1759 to 1901. In order to keep state government local, the legislature occupied each county seat on a rotating schedule. In 1854, only the buildings in Providence and Newport were used. In 1901, when the new Rhode Island State House was first occupied, Providence became the state capitol, and the buildings in Bristol, South Kingstown, and East Greenwich were turned over to the counties.By the early twentieth century, the courthouse was in need of modernization. In 1908 the Providence architectural firm of William R. Walker & Son was hired to renovate the structure. However, as soon as work had begun, it was revealed that the building's structural integrity had been compromised over the years. The courthouse was gutted and the interior was completely rebuilt in the Colonial Revival manner. The work was completed in 1909.In 1974, a new courthouse was built in Warwick. The building in East Greenwich was repurposed as the East Greenwich Town Hall, replacing the old shingle-style town hall, formerly a block north on Main Street. The probate court continues to meet in the building, making it the oldest active courthouse in the state.
