Friar Park is a Victorian neo-Gothic mansion in Henley-on-Thames, England, built in 1889. It was originally owned by eccentric lawyer Sir Frank Crisp and purchased in January 1970 by English rock musician and former Beatle George Harrison. The site covers about 62 acres (25 hectares). Features include caves, grottoes, underground passages, a multitude of garden gnomes, and an Alpine rock garden with a scale model of the Matterhorn. Though rumour and tabloid reports often claim the building has 120 rooms, this was denied by the current owner, Olivia Harrison, while speaking to NPR Fresh Air in March 2004, at which time she clarified the number was somewhere around 30.

Lower Assendon is a village in the Assendon valley in the Chiltern Hills, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest of Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire, England. The road between Henley and Wallingford passes the village. It was made into a turnpike in 1736 and ceased to be a turnpike in 1873. It is now classified the A4130. The village has a public house, The Golden Ball, that is now a gastropub. Henley Park is just east of the village. It was a medieval deer park and in 1300 became part of the manor of Henley. In the Georgian era the park was converted into a landscape garden with "beautiful inclosures descending in natural waving slopes from the house." Fairmile Cemetery, on a hillside southwest of the village, belongs to Henley Town Council.

The visit was somewhat embarrassing for Mrs. Freeman who was unwell at the time and so had to let the royal party explore the house on their own as described in the diary of Mrs. Caroline Girle Powys, wife of Philip Lybbe Powys.

Rupert House School is an independent pre-prep and preparatory school located in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England.Rupert House School was established in 1924 with ten pupils and was originally called St Joan's School. It was renamed after Prince Rupert of the Rhine when it moved from New Street to its present location in Bell Street. It has gradually expanded. The school takes girls and boys from age 3 to 11. At the end of the 20th century, the playing fields on the Fairmile were added to the school's estate. In 2018, a new all-weather pitch was opened by the hockey player Jo Ellis. The 1992 Olympic hockey medallist Mandy Nicholson is the Director of Sport.The school has been successful in its pupils winning prizes in competitions. Lambridge Wood is a 73.8-hectare (182-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. It is in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Soil types in the wood vary from calcareous to very acid. The main trees are beech, and other trees include oak, ash and wych elm. The understorey in mainly bramble, and in some areas bracken.Access routes include a footpath from Henley through Badgemore Park Golf Club.

The parish includes the villages of Bix, Lower Assendon and Middle Assendon. The 2011 census recorded a parish population of 531 mainly clustered in the settlements mentioned in its total area of 9.79 km2.
