River City (building)

Southbank is a multi-building urban redevelopment project under construction in Chicago, being developed by Lendlease. The site was originally part of a larger development, dubbed "Riverline" built by a partnership between Chicago-based developer CMK and Lendlease but the partnership was dissolved in early 2018. Southbank neighbors the other descendant project, Riverline, which retained the original name. Groundbreaking occurred in 2016 when the partnership between CMK and Lendlease had not been dissolved. The development is north of The 78, another large-scale development.The first residential building in the complex will allow tenants to move in as early as October 2018. The building was originally known as Ancora at Riverline, but has been renamed The Cooper at Southbank.

The Taylor Street Bridge was the first Scherzer rolling lift bascule bridge built in Chicago, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It was built in 1900 and demolished in the 1920s.

Grand Central Station was a passenger railroad terminal in downtown Chicago, Illinois, from 1890 to 1969. It was located at 201 West Harrison Street on a block bounded by Harrison, Wells and Polk Streets and the Chicago River in the southwestern portion of the Chicago Loop. Grand Central Station was designed by architect Solon Spencer Beman for the Wisconsin Central Railroad (WC), and was completed by the Chicago and Northern Pacific Railroad. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad purchased the station in 1910 and used it as the Chicago terminus for its passenger rail service, including its Capitol Limited service to Washington, D.C. Major tenant railroads included the Soo Line Railroad, successor to the Wisconsin Central, the Chicago Great Western Railway, and the Pere Marquette Railway. The station opened December 8, 1890, closed November 8, 1969, and was demolished in 1971.

South Loop Printing House District is a historic district in the downtown Chicago Loop area of Chicago, Illinois. The district is roughly bounded by Congress, Polk, State, Taylor, and Wells Streets and includes 28 contributing buildings. The district includes many of the printing buildings used by Chicago's printing industry, the largest in the midwest from the 1880s through the 1930s. Due to its proximity to Dearborn Station and its thin property blocks that allowed for tall and thin printing buildings, land in the district was attractive to large printing companies. The district includes a small number of large and detailed buildings and many more small, homogeneous buildings used by less prominent printing firms.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is distinct from the Printing House Row District (also known as South Dearborn Street-Printing House Row Historic District), another district which includes significant buildings from Chicago's printing industry. Properties included in the district that are separately listed on the National Register include the Pontiac Building and the Manhattan Building.

The Old Chicago Main Post Office Twin Towers was a proposed mixed use supertall skyscraper planned as part of the canceled Old Chicago Main Post Office Redevelopment project in the Chicago Loop community area. The 120-story twin towers were planned to reach a height of 2,000 feet (610 m). If built according to plan, the building would have been the tallest in the United States.

LaSalle Street Station is a commuter rail terminal at 414 South LaSalle Street in downtown Chicago. First used as a rail terminal in 1852, it was a major intercity rail terminal for the New York Central Railroad until 1968, and for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad until 1978, but now serves only Metra's Rock Island District. The present structure became the fifth station on the site when its predecessor was demolished in 1981 and replaced by the new station and the One Financial Place (now 425 South Financial Place) tower for the Chicago Stock Exchange. The Chicago Board of Trade Building, Willis Tower and Harold Washington Library are nearby.

Congress Parkway Bridge, also known as Ida B. Wells Drive Bridge and officially named the Wagner Memorial Bridge, is a seven-lane bascule bridge crossing the South Branch Chicago River, providing an expressway connection between Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway) and Ida B. Wells Drive/Wacker Drive. The bridge is located immediately to the east of a highway tunnel in the Old Post Office.

San Marco II is an outdoor 1986 bronze sculpture of a stallion by Italian artist Ludovico de Luigi, installed in Chicago's The Plaza, FOUR40 (formerly known as One Financial Place), in the U.S. state of Illinois.

The passenger depot of the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad (Nickel Plate Road) in Chicago, was located at the northwest corner of Roosevelt Road (12th Street) and Clark Street, just east of the main line of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway to its LaSalle Street Station. It operated at the Nickel Plate Depot from 1892 until 1898 when the railroad became a tenant at LaSalle, which it continued to use until it abandoned passenger service in 1965.In 2007, Centrum Properties announced plans for a mixed-use development on the site of the rail yards with a Target department store occupying the location where the station once stood. Because of the Financial crisis of 2007–2008, much of the Roosevelt Collection remained vacant for several years after it was completed. Though the project cost Centrum $350 million to construct, it sold the complex in March 2011 for approximately $160-175.

LaSalle is an 'L' station on the CTA's Blue Line. It is a subway station with a single island platform located at 150 West Ida B. Wells Drive in the Loop district of Chicago, Illinois.
