Fitchburg is a city in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 29,609 at the 2020 census. Fitchburg is a suburb of Madison and is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fitchburg consists of a mix of suburban neighborhoods closer to the border with the city of Madison, commercial and industrial properties, and more rural properties in the southern portion of the city. Despite its status as an incorporated city, some rural parts of Fitchburg still lack certain municipal services such as sewer, water, and natural gas.

The McCoy Farmhouse is a historic house located at 2925 Syene Road in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The Italianate farmhouse was built in 1861 on an early Wisconsin tobacco farm. From 1949 to 1978 microbiologist Elizabeth McCoy lived there. In 1980 the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of Wisconsin responsible for marketing and promoting the state as a travel destination. The University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum is a teaching and research facility of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the site of historic research in ecological restoration. In addition to its 1,260 acres (5 km2) in Madison, Wisconsin (located about four miles from the main campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison), the Arboretum also manages 520 acres (210 ha) of remnant forests and prairies throughout Wisconsin. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2021, in recognition for its role as a pioneer in the field of ecological restoration.

WHITE (1550 AM) is a radio station based in Madison, Wisconsin and broadcasting a classic country format. The station is currently owned by Mid-West Family Broadcasting.

WHA (970 AM) is a non-commercial radio station, licensed since 1922 to the University of Wisconsin and located in Madison, Wisconsin. It serves as the flagship for the Wisconsin Public Radio talk-based "Ideas Network". WHA's programming is also broadcast by two low-powered FM translators, and by WERN FM's HD3 digital subchannel. The station airs a schedule of news and talk programs from Wisconsin Public Radio, NPR, American Public Media, Public Radio International, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the BBC. The same call letters are used by WHA-TV in Madison, the flagship station for PBS Wisconsin.

The Nakoma Historic District is located in Madison, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Madison is a town in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 6,279 at the 2010 census. The town, although once larger, is now broken up into discontinuous fragments by the much larger city of Madison, and is set to go out of existence by 2022. The majority of the town's current territory is situated along the Highway 12/18, comprising several neighborhoods situated between the south side of the city of Madison, and the north side of the city of Fitchburg. The town also has territory on the north side of Madison near the border with Maple Bluff, as well as a few lots on the west side of Madison near Whitney Way. The Alliant Energy Center of Dane County is situated within the Town of Madison. Despite its status as an unincorporated community, the Town of Madison provides a variety of services to its residents which are typically only found in incorporated cities and villages, including police, fire and emergency medical services; sewer and water utilities; and three public parks.

The Nicholas Haight Farmstead is a historic farm at 4926 Lacy Road in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Edwin Spooner of Massachusetts established the farm in the 1850s after purchasing the land from speculator John Catlin. Spooner built the original section of the farm's farmhouse in 1854–55; the two-story farmhouse is a vernacular gabled ell structure with Greek Revival elements, such as frieze boards and cornice returns on the front-facing gable. Nicholas Haight purchased the farm from Spooner in 1867, and he and his family owned the property well into the twentieth century. Haight ran a diverse farm, as was typical in Dane County at the time, growing wheat and raising dairy cattle, horses, sheep, and pigs. Haight added wings to the farmhouse four times, twice before 1880, and twice between 1880 and 1900. The farm also includes a nineteenth-century barn with an early twentieth-century silo, a smokehouse, a granary, and a corn crib.The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1993.

The Old Spring Tavern is located in Madison, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Village on Park Street (formerly Villager Mall) is a multi-building community plaza located in Madison, Wisconsin. Originally built in the 1960s, the plaza has evolved from a shopping center to a community plaza.
