The Nicholas Haight Farmstead is a historic farm at 4926 Lacy Road in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Edwin Spooner of Massachusetts established the farm in the 1850s after purchasing the land from speculator John Catlin. Spooner built the original section of the farm's farmhouse in 1854–55; the two-story farmhouse is a vernacular gabled ell structure with Greek Revival elements, such as frieze boards and cornice returns on the front-facing gable. Nicholas Haight purchased the farm from Spooner in 1867, and he and his family owned the property well into the twentieth century. Haight ran a diverse farm, as was typical in Dane County at the time, growing wheat and raising dairy cattle, horses, sheep, and pigs. Haight added wings to the farmhouse four times, twice before 1880, and twice between 1880 and 1900. The farm also includes a nineteenth-century barn with an early twentieth-century silo, a smokehouse, a granary, and a corn crib.The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1993.

The town, although once larger, is now broken up into discontinuous fragments by the much larger city of Madison, and is set to go out of existence by 2022. It serves as the flagship for the Wisconsin Public Radio talk-based "Ideas Network". WHA's programming is also broadcast by two low-powered FM translators, and by WERN FM's HD3 digital subchannel. The station airs a schedule of news and talk programs from Wisconsin Public Radio, NPR, American Public Media, Public Radio International, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the BBC. The same call letters are used by WHA-TV in Madison, the flagship station for PBS Wisconsin.

Fitchburg Center is a neighborhood in the city of Fitchburg, Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located at the intersection of Lacy Road and Fish Hatchery Road (County Highway D). Once part of the Town of Fitchburg, it became part of the city of Fitchburg when it was incorporated in 1983. Fitchburg Center now forms the core of the city of Fitchburg.

Alliant Energy Center (formerly Dane County Coliseum) is a multi-building complex located in unincorporated Madison, Wisconsin. It comprises 164 acres (0.66 km2) of greenspace and includes the 255,000-square-foot (23,700 m2) Exhibition Hall, the 10,000-seat Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the 29-acre (0.12 km2) Willow Island and the 22,000-square-foot (2,000 m2) Arena. After completing various stages of planning throughout 2013, it was announced on November 26 that Dane County would be awarding a $20.7 million contract to Miron Construction for the construction of two new multi-use pavilions at the Alliant Energy Center. The exhibition pavilions, which total 290,000 square feet, will be replacing the nine current agricultural barns. Construction began following the Midwest Horse Fair in April 2014 with completion set in time for the 2014 World Dairy Expo in late September. The Center welcomes more than one million people attending more than 500 events annually, ranging from local meetings and banquets to large sporting events and major concerts.

Fitchburg is a city in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 29,609 at the 2020 census. Fitchburg is a suburb of Madison and is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fitchburg consists of a mix of suburban neighborhoods closer to the border with the city of Madison, commercial and industrial properties, and more rural properties in the southern portion of the city. Despite its status as an incorporated city, some rural parts of Fitchburg still lack certain municipal services such as sewer, water, and natural gas.

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of Wisconsin responsible for marketing and promoting the state as a travel destination. The Department is led by a secretary appointed by the governor of Wisconsin with the advice and consent of the Wisconsin Senate. The current secretary is Anne Sayers, who was appointed by Governor Tony Evers in December 2020.

Brat Fest, which bills itself as "World's Largest Brat Fest", is an annual fundraiser held in Madison, Wisconsin. The event has been held every Memorial Day weekend since 1983, when it was launched by Tom Metcalfe, an area businessman who owned the Hilldale Mall location of Sentry Foods in Madison. Initially held in the parking lot in front of the Metcalfe's Sentry store, the event was intended as a customer appreciation event for those who shopped there, but soon evolved into a fundraiser for local charities. Bratwurst, hot dogs, and soft drinks are served at the festival. Tom Metcalfe's sons, Tim and Kevin, are now coordinators for the event. During the 2011 Wisconsin protests, it was made public that the main sponsor of Bratfest, Johnsonville Foods, sent large contributions towards the election of the Republican Governor Scott Walker. This led to calls to boycott the festival, as well as the formation of several small left-wing alternative brat fests, including The People's Bratfest and The Wurst Times festival.
