Carbon12 is a wooden building in Portland, Oregon's Eliot neighborhood, in the United States. The eight-story structure built with Oregon-made cross-laminated timber (CLT) became the tallest wood building in the United States upon its completion.Carbon12 is an 85 ft. (26 m) mixed-use building situated on the corner of North Williams Avenue and 12 Northeast Fremont Street. It was designed, developed, and built by Ben Kaiser of PATH Architecture and Kaiser Group Inc., using CLT panels made by Structurlam. With a rooftop deck, the height is 95 ft. (29 m). Work on the Carbon12 started in July 2016, and it was completed in 2018. It is named after the atomic weight of carbon (12 AMU), as the carbon footprint was one of the primary motivators to choose timber and its street address (12 NE Fremont St.). The Carbon12 building is advertised to be one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly wooden buildings in the U.S.

Randall Children's Hospital is the children's hospital at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. Formerly Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital, it was renamed in 2011 during construction of the new 165-bed patient tower.

The Lewis and Elizabeth Van Vleet House, also known as the Yee House, is a historic building located in the Eliot neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States, on the plat of the former town of Albina. Built in 1894, it was the home of Lewis Van Vleet (1826–1910), the United States Deputy Surveyor for the Pacific Northwest for 40 years, among other accomplishments. Starting in 1956, it was the home of Rozelle Jackson Yee (1913–2000), a leader in the African American community who was active in promoting neighborhood involvement in the redevelopment projects that vastly altered the Albina area in the latter half of the 20th century. The house is architecturally important as a high expression of the Queen Anne style with extensive stained glass windows from the prominent Povey Brothers Studio. It is one of relatively few vintage houses in Albina to survive the period of redevelopment projects.The house was entered on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center is a hospital located in the Eliot neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1912, it is one of only two Level I trauma centers in the state of Oregon, and home to the only burn center between Seattle and Sacramento. The hospital is also home to the Life Flight Network (MEDEVAC), the first of its kind instituted on the U.S. West Coast. The 554-bed facility provides a full range of services, including conventional surgery, heart treatment, critical care, neurology/stroke care/brain surgery, and care for high-risk pregnancies. Legacy Emanuel also houses the Randall Children's Hospital. It is one of the hospitals in the area where gun shot victims are routinely brought in.Originally opened as Emanuel Hospital by the First Immanuel Lutheran Church of Portland, the facility's original location was an historic Victorian home in North Portland (at the site of the hospital's present-day location). A nursing school was established in 1913, after which a new building was constructed in 1915 to accommodate the increasing influx of patients. The hospital saw multiple renovations and developments over the following several decades. In the 1970s, Emanuel Hospital began a controversial expansion project which displaced a significant number of homes and businesses in the Albina neighborhood adjacent to the hospital grounds. In 1983, the hospital was operated by HealthLink, but in 1989, merged with Good Samaritan Hospital to form the Legacy Health System, after which it became known as Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

Eliot is a neighborhood in the North and Northeast sections of Portland, Oregon. It is approximately bounded by the Willamette River on the west, NE Fremont Street on the north, NE 7th Avenue on the east, and NE/N Broadway on the south. The neighborhood contains the old center of the former City of Albina before it was annexed by Portland in the late 19th century. Eliot was named in honor of Rev. Thomas L. Eliot, a pioneer minister.

Tasty n Sons was a restaurant in Portland, Oregon's Boise neighborhood, in the United States. The restaurant was named Willamette Week's Restaurant of the Year in 2010, and one of the city's best restaurants by The Oregonian in 2016. The North Williams restaurant closed on January 20, 2019, and was relocated and reopened as Tasty n Daughters, in the space currently occupied by The Woodsman Tavern, in February 2019.Tasty n Sons' sister restaurant, Tasty n Alder, is located in downtown Portland.

The Albina Library is a branch of the Multnomah County Library, located in northeast Portland, Oregon. The library's origins date back to 1906 with the establishment of a small reading room that housed 100 books. The branch has relocated four times since then, moving back to the building which used to house The Title Wave Used Bookstore from a retail plaza in northeast Portland. The branch offers the Multnomah County Library catalog of two million books, periodicals and other materials.

The Thomas A. Edison High School was an alternative public junior/senior high school in Portland, Oregon, United States, in the Portland school district. It was founded in September, 1935, and occupied the former Albina Homestead School building at Beech and Mallory streets in Portland. The school was the successor to the Better Scholarship High School and Probationary High School programs at the Failing School, which was otherwise an elementary school. Academic and vocational classes were offered. The "Girls' Division," formally known as "Girls' Edison High School," was split in September 1936, and moved to the vacated Brooklyn School building. In September 1938, the program moved again to the Holliday School building, where its name was changed to "Jane Addams High School for Girls." The Boys' Edison High School moved to Sabin School in 1939 because of low attendance at the Sabin School, and the Edison program was renamed Sabin High School. The schools were closed by June 13, 1947, partly because the space was needed for increased elementary school enrollment due to the baby boom.
