Indera Mills

Arista Cotton Mill Complex, also known as Salem Cotton Manufacturing Company and Arista Cotton Mill (Fries Mill Complex) and Lentz Transfer & Storage Co., is a historic cotton mill complex located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The complex includes two buildings: a brick building built in 1836 by part of the Moravian congregation of Salem and the original home of the Salem Cotton Manufacturing Company, and the other is the original Arista Mill, built in 1880 by F. and H. Fries Cotton Arista Mills. The 1836 Salem Cotton Mill is a three-story, brick building with a monitor roof. The 1880 mill is a three-story brick building, 14 bays long, with bracketed eaves with timber supports. A two-story roughly triangular brick building was added about 1900. The 1836 building has been converted to a hotel known as The Historic Brookstown Inn. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

South Trade Street Houses are a set of three historic homes located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. They are known as the Sussdorf, Ackerman and Patterson Houses and associated with the Moravian community of Salem. The Sussdorf House was built in 1838, and is a two-story, four-bay-by-two-bay, brick dwelling. The Ackerman House was built in 1856, and is a two-story brick dwelling with a full-width, hip-roof Victorian porch. The Patterson House was built in 1857, and is a two-story, three-bay-by-two-bay, brick dwelling.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

William Allen Blair House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1901, and is a two-story, Colonial Revival style frame dwelling. It has a one-story, wrap-around front porch and Porte-cochère. The house features a high hipped roof with gabled dormers and central facade gable with a projecting second story bay and a Palladian window.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Hylehurst, also known as the John W. Fries House, is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. It was designed by Henry Hudson Holly and built in 1884. The house is a three-story, Queen Anne style dwelling. It features projecting gable ends with timbering and scalloped shingles and a wraparound verandah. It was built for John W. Fries, a prominent Winston-Salem industrialist, whose father built the Arista Cotton Mill Complex.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Brickenstein-Leinbach House, also known as L.B. Brickenstein House, is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built around 1907 from a plan by Frank Pierce Milburn, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It has a high hipped slate roof, projecting bays, and a full-width porch with Corinthian order columns. A rear addition was built in the 1930s. The house was moved from 426 Main Street to its present site in 1990.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The district encompasses 591 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 3 contributing structures in a largely residential section of Winston-Salem. The buildings date from about 1843 to 1957, and include notable examples of Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, and American Craftsman style architecture, as well as bungalows. Notable resources include the M. D. Gantt Building (1931), Coca-Cola bottling plant (1930), Christ Moravian Church (1895), and Green Street Methodist Church (1921).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Winston-Salem Southbound Railway Freight Warehouse and Office is a historic railway freight warehouse and office building located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1913, and is a two-story, brick railroad building with a shallow gable roof and Italianate-style design elements. It measures 40 feet by 224 feet. The building served until 1985 as headquarters for the Winston-Salem Southbound Railway. In 1990, the building was sympathetically renovated for office use.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Conrad-Starbuck House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1884, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, double pile Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a number of rear additions. The central projecting bay once had a three-story tower, but the top level was removed between 1912 and 1917.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The property was purchased in 2019 by Spear Properties Group, with plans to renovate the house and surrounding land to fit historic roots. The house now serves as office suites for downtown Winston-Salem.

Kaleideum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina was created from the July 2016 merger of Children's Museum of Winston-Salem and SciWorks, the Science Center and Environmental Park of Forsyth County. Currently, the museum operates two locations — Kaleideum Downtown (formerly The Children's Museum of Winston-Salem) and Kaleideum North (formerly SciWorks).

Salem Town Hall is a historic town hall located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. It was designed by architect Willard C. Northup and built in 1912. It is a two-story brick building with stone, cement and wood trim. It features a three-story corner bell tower and has Italianate and local Moravian design elements. The building housed the Salem Town offices until it consolidated with the town of Winston in 1913, then moved to the newly built Winston-Salem City Hall in 1926. The building continued to be used as a fire station until the mid 1970s. It was subsequently renovated into offices.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

James Mitchell Rogers House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built between 1883 and 1885, and is a large two-story, eclectic Late Victorian frame dwelling. The house design reflects Late Gothic Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne style design influences. It features steeply pitched gables sheathed in board and batten siding, bay windows, and irregular massing. It was the home of James Mitchell Rogers, a prominent Winston-Salem businessman, and his son, Francis Mitchell Rogers, chief chemist of Standard Oil Company of Indiana.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
