Kokura Station

Mikuni World Stadium Kitakyushu (ミクニワールドスタジアム北九州) is an association football and rugby union stadium located in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It has a capacity of 15,300, and it opened on 18 February 2017 with a rugby union match. Giravanz Kitakyushu have been tenants since 2017. It has been called Mikuni World Stadium Kitakyushu for the naming rights. On 16 September 2019 the Welsh national rugby team practised at this stadium in front of a full house – officially 15,300 seated, with more standing. This was a pre-event for the Rugby World Cup 2019 held in Japan. On 25 June 2022, Japan national rugby union team hosted a test match against Uruguay.

Higashi-Kokura Freight Terminal (東小倉駅, Higashi-Kokura-eki) is a freight terminal on the Kagoshima Main Line in Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyūshū, Japan, operated by Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight). Presently it handles no trains.

The Kanmon Railway Tunnel (関門鉄道トンネル, kanmon tetsudō tonneru) was the first undersea tunnel in Japan. It goes underneath the Kanmon Straits, connecting the islands of Honshu and Kyushu. It is an important link in the Japanese rail network. Its construction began in 1936, and it was completed in November 1942, during the Pacific War. The Honshu-bound tunnel is 3,604 m (11,824 ft) long, the Kyushu-bound tunnel is 3,614 m (11,857 ft). Track gauge is 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) (Cape gauge), and its electric power supply is at 1,500 volts DC. Near the end of the Pacific War the Allies planned to blow up the two tunnels with 50,000 pounds of explosives as part of the invasion of Japan. The Office of Strategic Services trained 250 of its agents for the task, but the surrender of Japan occurred before they were needed.The Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) assumed ownership of this tunnel following the breakup of the Japanese National Railways system in 1987.

The Shimonoseki Station massacre (Japanese: 下関通り魔殺人事件) was a mass murder that occurred in Shimonoseki, Japan on 29 September 1999. Yasuaki Uwabe, a 35-year-old former architect, drove a car into Shimonoseki Station and then stabbed passers-by at random, killing five people and injuring 10 others, before being arrested at the scene. Uwabe was sentenced to death in 2002 and executed in 2012.

Shimonoseki Station (下関駅, Shimonoseki-eki) is a railway station on the Sanyo Main Line, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi, Japan. Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) and Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight) services also use this station. The company boundary between JR West and JR Kyushu is at the west end of this station where there is an entrance signal from Moji.

The Kaikyō Yume Tower (海峡ゆめタワー) dominates the city of Shimonoseki and is the tallest tower in western Japan. Standing 153 metres tall, it was opened in July 1996. It forms a part of the Kaikyō Messe Shimonoseki building, which houses a conference centre and corporate offices.The tower was designed by NTT Power and Building Facilities and built by Takenaka Corporation.Upon paying an admission fee, tourists can visit an observation deck in the glass sphere at the top of the building for panoramic views over the city and the Kanmon Straits. Buzenda (豊前田, ぶぜんだ) refers to the downtown area of Shimonoseki City, Japan. It is located in the Shimonoseki Station area, and it is known as the most famous downtown area in Yamaguchi Prefecture. There are izakaya, karaoke bars, and other social venues around Buzenda-cho-2.
