St Peter's Hospital, Covent Garden

The Garrick Club Clubhouse is located on Garrick Street in London's Covent Garden district. It was built in 1860 for the Garrick Club. It is listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England. In the late 19th-century, the art collection of the club was available to be viewed by the public every Wednesday morning if introduced by a member.

The Garrick Club is a gentlemen's club in the heart of London founded in 1831. It is one of the oldest members' clubs in the world and since its inception has catered to members such as Charles Kean, Henry Irving, Herbert Beerbohm Tree, Arthur Sullivan, Laurence Olivier, Raymond Raikes, Stephen Fry and John Gielgud. From the literary world came writers such as Charles Dickens, H. G. Wells, J. M. Barrie, A. A. Milne, and Kingsley Amis. The visual arts have been represented by painters such as John Everett Millais, Lord Leighton and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. In 1956 the rights to A. A. Milne's Pooh books were left to four beneficiaries: his family, the Royal Literary Fund, Westminster School and the Garrick Club. As of 2016, the club has around 1,400 members (with a seven-year waiting list) including many actors and men of letters in the United Kingdom. New candidates must be proposed by an existing member before election in a secret ballot, the original assurance of the committee being “that it would be better that ten unobjectionable men should be excluded than one terrible bore should be admitted”. The Garrick Club is also home to major collections of art, with more than 1,000 paintings, drawings and sculptures on display. It also houses a theatrical library.

The Angel and Crown is a Grade II listed public house at 58 St Martin's Lane, Covent Garden, London, WC2.It was built in the late 18th or early 19th century.

The Westminster Meeting House is a Friends meeting house (a Quaker place of worship) at 52 St Martin's Lane in Covent Garden, London WC1. It shares its frontage with an adjoining shop. The Westminster friends have been meeting at this location since 1883.The philosopher Bertrand Russell and the activist Alys Pearsall Smith married in the meeting house in 1894. In Russell's autobiography he relates that the guests at the wedding seemed moved to preach about the Miracle at Cana which offended his bride's teetotal sensibility. The artist Richard Morris Smith made a drawing of their wedding and a photograph of the drawing was donated to the National Portrait Gallery by Barbara Halpern in 1999.The writer and activist Jennifer Kavanagh has been a member of the Westminster Quaker meeting since 1996.The meeting house and adjoining shop is listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England.The meeting for worship is held on Sundays from 11am to 12pm; on Tuesdays from 1 to 1:30pm and on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7pm.

The White Swan is a Grade II listed public house at 14 New Row, Covent Garden, London, WC2.It was built in the late 17th or early 18th century, refaced and altered mid-19th century. It was an O'Neill's pub, but has now reverted to its original name and is run by Nicholsons.

The Lamb and Flag is a Grade II listed public house at Rose Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2.The building is erroneously said to date back to Tudor times, and to have been a licensed premises since 1623, but in fact dates from the early 18th century. The building became a pub in 1772.Situated in what was a violent area of Covent Garden, the pub's upstairs room once hosted bare-knuckle prize fights, leading to it being nicknamed "The Bucket of Blood". A plaque on the building commemorates an attack on John Dryden in a nearby alley in 1679, when Charles II sent men to assault Dryden in objection to a satirical verse against Louise de Kérouaille, Charles II's mistress. Writer Charles Dickens frequented the pub in the 19th century. The pub was refaced with brick in 1958.

The Noël Coward Theatre, formerly known as the Albery Theatre, is a West End theatre in St. Martin's Lane in the City of Westminster, London. It opened on 12 March 1903 as the New Theatre and was built by Sir Charles Wyndham behind Wyndham's Theatre which was completed in 1899. The building was designed by the architect W. G. R. Sprague with an exterior in the classical style and an interior in the Rococo style. In 1973 it was renamed the Albery Theatre in tribute to Sir Bronson Albery who had presided as its manager for many years. Since September 2005, the theatre has been owned by Delfont-Mackintosh Ltd. It underwent major refurbishment in 2006, and was renamed the Noël Coward Theatre when it re-opened on 1 June 2006. The building is now a Grade II Listed structure.

The Salisbury is a Grade II listed public house at 91–93 St Martin's Lane, Covent Garden, London which is noted for its particularly fine late Victorian interior with art nouveau elements.

St Martin's Lane is a street in the City of Westminster, which runs from the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, after which it is named, near Trafalgar Square northwards to Long Acre. At its northern end, it becomes Monmouth Street. St Martin's Lane and Monmouth Street together form the B404.

Brydges Place is an alley between St Martin's Lane and Bedfordbury in the City of Westminster, Greater London, running alongside the Coliseum. It is especially narrow, being just 1 foot 3 inches (0.38 m) wide at one point, and so is commonly claimed to be the narrowest street in London., although in fact Emerald Court, near Great Ormond Street Hospital is narrower.In 2019, the alley was used as a filming location for Last Christmas.

On 12 October 1992, the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) detonated a bomb that had been planted in the gents' toilets in the Sussex Arms pub in Upper St Martins Lane near Long Acre, London, killing a man and injuring seven other people.A telephone call to a radio station was made at 1:21 pm, nine minutes before the bomb exploded, saying a bomb had been placed "in the Leicester Square area"; a tourist-frequented spot nearby. The bomb exploded at 1:30pm, injuring eight people. One of the wounded - thirty-year-old nurse David Heffer - died from his injuries in hospital. It was the eighth IRA bomb in London in a six day period.It was the first IRA pub bombing in England to kill people since the November 1974 Birmingham pub bombings, and the first IRA pub bombing in Britain causing injuries since the Hare and Hounds pub bombing in Lower Boxley Road in Kent in September 1975, when two police officers were injured in an IRA car bombing.

The St Martin's Lane Academy, a precursor of the Royal Academy, was organised in 1735 by William Hogarth, from the circle of artists and designers who gathered at Slaughter's Coffee House at the upper end of St Martin's Lane, London. The artistic set that introduced the Rococo style to England was centred on "Old Slaughter's" and the drawing-classes at the St. Martin's Lane Academy were inextricably linked in the dissemination of new artistic ideas in England in the reigns of George II and George III.
