Mevaram, is a neighbourhood and a junction in the city of Kollam in the Indian state of Kerala. The Kollam Bypass, which forms part of National Highway-66, begins from Mevaram junction. Mevaram is located at the borders of Kollam Municipal Corporation. It is the southern tip of Kollam City.

N. S. Memorial Institute of Medical Sciences (NSMIMS) is a co-operative hospital located at Palathara in Kollam, India. It was founded in 2000 in memory of N. Sreedharan (died 1985), a communist organizer who was a member of the secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). This is the first Co-operative Multi Super Specialty Hospital in South Kerala. Meenakshi Vilasam Government Vocational Higher Secondary School (MVGVHSS) is a school located in Punthalathazham, India. When it was first established in 1944, the school was situated near Sree Meenakshi Temple and named Kalluvilla Private School. Kunjan Pillai was the manager and headmaster. The school was later relocated to near Peroor Meenakshi Temple. Since then, it has been known as Meenakshi Vilasam School. In 1947, the school came under the control of the Kerala government, and 19 years later it was promoted to a high school. In 1974, the school was divided into primary and high school. Starting in 1993, MVGVHSS offered vocational education, and in 2000, non-vocational higher secondary education was introduced.

Thazhuthala is a peaceful and serene village located two kilometres north of Kottiyam junction in Kollam district in the state of Kerala, India. The village is known by the Sree Maha Ganapathi temple and the famous 'Gajothsavam' equivalent to the Thrissur Pooram.

Polayathode or Polayathodu is one of the fastest growing neighbourhoods of the city of Kollam, in the state of Kerala, India. It is situated at National Highways – NH 66 (Earlier NH 47). Kerala Police have identified Polayathode as one of the traffic black spots in the state.
