Millfield Theatre

Millfield House is a Grade II* listed building located in Silver Street, Edmonton, London. Previously a private house, it has been used as an arts centre since 1979.

Millfield Arts Centre comprises Millfield Theatre and Millfield House in Edmonton and The Dugdale Centre in Enfield Town. It is owned by London Borough of Enfield Council.

North Middlesex University Hospital, known locally as North Mid, is a district general hospital in Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield. The hospital is managed by North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

Edmonton is an area in north London, England within the London Borough of Enfield. The northern part of the town is known as Edmonton Green or Lower Edmonton, and the southern part as Upper Edmonton. Situated 8.4 miles (13.5 km) north-northeast of Charing Cross, it borders Ponders End and Bush Hill Park in Enfield to the north, Chingford to the east, and Tottenham to the south, with Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill to the west. The population of Edmonton was 82,472 as of 2011. Edmonton is within the London Borough of Enfield, a local government district of Greater London. Historically a parish in the Edmonton Hundred of Middlesex, Edmonton became an urban district in 1894, and a municipal borough in 1937. Local government took place at the now-demolished Edmonton Town Hall in Fore Street between 1855 and 1965. In 1965, following reform of local government in London, the municipal borough and former parish of Edmonton was abolished, merging with that of Enfield and Southgate to form the new local government district of Enfield, a borough of Greater London. Once a rural village, the opening of the railway and tramway in the 19th century, especially the opening of the high-level station at Lower Edmonton, caused the area to expand rapidly, forming part of the metropolitan and urban area of London, similar to much of the county of Middlesex. The late 19th century saw the establishment of industry on former marshland and movement of a working-class population to the area, encouraging much of this development. By the 1930s, the area had become a popular north London shopping destination, and in the 1960s and 1970s, the area underwent major redevelopment, with the construction of an indoor market and shopping centre, as well as mass construction of council housing, including tower blocks. In recent years, as a result of increased levels of immigration, the town has been transformed from a predominantly white area into one of the most ethnically diverse areas in England, with the majority of the population now belonging to an ethnic minority background, as first recorded in the 2011 census. In 1795, the town gave its name to Fort Edmonton, which grew and evolved into the city of Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, Canada.

Pymmes Park is located in Edmonton, London and is bordered by the North Circular Road. The park is a Metropolitan Open Space, Local Importance of Nature Conservation, and a site of Archaeological Importance.

Pymmes House was a house built by William Pymme in 1327 in what is now Pymmes Park, in Edmonton, London. It had a succession of notable owners, particularly in the Elizabethan period and was remodelled and rebuilt several times. It was demolished after a fire in 1940.

The Latymer School is a selective, mixed grammar school in Edmonton, London, England, established in 1624 by Edward Latymer. According to league tables, Latymer is one of the top state-schools in the country.

Little Russia was an area of Tottenham, London, England. It was on the straight northern boundary of the London Borough of Haringey, specifically adjoining Edmonton, mainly comprising Pretoria Road, Durban Road, and Lorenco Road (west of the railway line between Silver Street and White Hart Lane). The area had become known as "Little Russia" in the early 20th century due to the influx of Russian immigrants. Immigration peaked when a large number of Russians settled there after fleeing the 1917 Russian Revolution. It developed into one of the toughest areas of North London, and the local constabulary usually only policed the area in pairs. The area was mostly redeveloped in the 1970s.

Haringey Sixth Form College (previously Haringey Sixth Form Centre) is a mixed sex sixth form college located in the Tottenham area of the London Borough of Haringey, United Kingdom.The college offers a range of vocational programmes of study including BTECs, and a small number of A-level courses, for students aged 16–19. It also provides teaching of English as an additional language to non-English speaking students aged 14–16 who have been excluded from secondary school. As of 2020, the college has a 'Requires improvement' rating from the statutory inspectorate, Ofsted.

The Edmonton air crash occurred on 4 September 1938. A Hawker Audax (serial number K7381) of No. 1 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School, Royal Air Force, based at Hatfield, crashed into a residential area in Edmonton, Middlesex (now Greater London). The aircraft was being flown by a 19-year-old pilot, Sgt Stanley Robert Morris RAFVR. The pilot and 12 people on the ground were killed, including four children.

Silver Street is a London Overground station on the Lea Valley lines located in Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield, north London. It is 7 miles 75 chains (12.8 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between White Hart Lane and Edmonton Green. Its three-letter station code is SLV and it is in Travelcard zone 4.
