Woerden (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋuːrdə(n)] ) is a city and a municipality in central Netherlands. Due to its central location between Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht, and the fact that it has rail and road connections to those cities, it is a popular town for commuters who work in those cities.

Woerden railway station (Dutch: Station Woerden) is the railway station of Woerden, Netherlands. The railway station was opened on 21 May 1855 on the Utrecht–Rotterdam railway. In 1911 a new building was built in Jugendstil, that still exists. During 1993-1996 the railway station was modernised, replacing the wooden roof and stairways by modern ones. During the closing decades of the twentieth century growing numbers of stopping trains at the station and a sustained rise in the level of motorised traffic led to increasing delays both for cyclists and for motorists at the level crossing directly adjacent to the station on its western side. The matter was finally addressed early in the twenty-first century with the construction of a short section of a road tunnel under the railway lines: this replaced the old level crossing. The station has two platforms and two entrances. On every entrance, there is bicycle parking.

's-Gravesloot is a former hamlet and municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was located between Kamerik and Woerden. 's-Gravesloot was a heerlijkheid (manor) owned by the province of Utrecht until 1751, when it was sold to a private owner. When the current municipal system was introduced in the Netherlands in 1812, it became part of Kamerik. When that municipality was split into three parts, 's-Gravesloot became a separate municipality again. In 1857, Kamerik-Mijzijde, Kamerik-Houtdijken, and 's-Gravesloot merged again, to form the new municipality of Kamerik. Kamerik and 's-Gravesloot are now part of Woerden.The municipality of 's-Gravesloot consisted of a polder with the same name, covered an area of 3.23 km2, and contained the hamlet of 's-Gravesloot. It had a population of about 110.

Kalsbeek College is a secondary school in the village of Woerden, Netherlands. The school is split between two sites and teaches all forms of Dutch secondary education. The Schilderspark site is on Jozef Israëlslaan and the Bredius site on Van kempensingel. The school has won the 538 Schoolawards in 2012, an election by the Dutch radio station Radio 538.

Barwoutswaarder is a neighbourhood of Woerden and a hamlet in the municipality of Woerden in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is located to the west of the city of Woerden. Nowadays it's part of the urban area of Woerden and a neighbourhood and industrial zone.Until 1964, Barwoutswaarder was a separate municipality (then in the province of South Holland). The municipality was created in 1817; between 1812 and 1817, the village was part of Waarder.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1179 as Berenwerde. The etymology is unclear. In 1840, it was home to 366 people.

Wulverhorst is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was located south of Woerden. Wulverhorst was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1857, when it was merged with Linschoten. The area is now a part of Montfoort as well as Woerden. On the grounds there has existed a castle from the 13th century which felt into ruins and was finally demolished in 1837.

Geestdorp is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Woerden, and lies about 2 km northeast of the city centre. The hamlet was first mentioned in 1272 as Ghersdorp, and means "settlement near grassland". It does not have place name signs. In the mid-19th century, Geestdorp was home to 140 people.

Kamerik is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Woerden and is situated about 3 km north of Woerden. In 2010 the village of Kamerik (including Kanis) had 3808 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.43 km² and contained 877 residences. The statistical district "Kamerik and Kanis", which includes two villages and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3050. This does not include the separate villages of Kamerik-Mijzijde and Oud-Kamerik. Until it was merged with Woerden in 1989 Kamerik was a separate municipality. Between 1818 and 1857 it was split into two municipalities: Kamerik-Mijzijde on the west side, and Kamerik-Houtdijken on the east.

Breeveld is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Woerden, and lies about 4 km northeast of the city centre. The hamlet was first mentioned in 1217 as Bretevelt, and means "wide field". Breeveld has no place name signs.

Rietveld is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Woerden, and lies about 3 km west of Woerden. Rietveld was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1964, when it became part of Woerden. During that time, it was part of the province South Holland.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1156 as Retfelt, and means "field with reed". There are no place name signs. In 1840, Rietveld was home to 235 people.

Linschoten (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlɪnsxoːtə(n)]) is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Montfoort, and lies about 3 km southeast of Woerden.

Diemerbroek is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Oudewater, and lies about 3 km (1.9 mi) north of the town of Oudewater. The statistical district "Diemerbroek", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 150.
