Lake St. Catherine (French: Lac Sainte-Catherine) is a brackish-water lake that is located in eastern Orleans Parish, within the city limits of New Orleans, between Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne in Louisiana. Between Lake St. Catherine and Lake Borgne was the original Town of Lake Catherine. Established between Unknown Pass and Miller's Ditch, it was settled for railroad workers, trappers, hunters and fishermen.

Fritchie Marsh is an area encompassing 6,291 acres of intermediate and brackish marsh located approximately three miles to the southeast of Slidell, Louisiana, USA. This wetland was originally documented as a freshwater marsh but has since been converted to a mixed intermediate and brackish marsh, and it threatens to become open salt water. Through the combined efforts of conservation groups and sponsors, the Fritchie Marsh Restoration Project was created and designed to restore the area to its original state. In the early years, this project showed a positive impact but soon suffered a devastating impact during Hurricane Katrina.

Eden Isle is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States, on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The population was 7,041 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area is a residential community with homes built on a system of canals connecting to eastern Lake Pontchartrain, which also includes businesses along the Interstate-10 corridor as well as restaurants and marina services within the residential section.

White Kitchen is an unincorporated community in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The community is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 90 and U.S. Route 190 and approximately 7 miles (11 kilometres) southeast of Slidell. The West Pearl River flows past about one mile to the east and Pearlington, Mississippi is about five miles to the east.

The East Rigolets Light was an early lighthouse marking the entrance to the Rigolets from Lake Borgne in Louisiana. It was deactivated in 1874 and destroyed sometime after 1923.

Salmen High School is a public high school in Slidell, Louisiana, United States, under the St. Tammany Parish School Board. The school serves southern Slidell and Eden Isle.

The Honey Island Swamp (French: Marais de l'Île-de-Miel, Spanish: Pantano de Isla de la Miel) is a marshland located in the eastern portion of the U.S. state of Louisiana in St. Tammany Parish. Honey Island earned its name due to the abundance of honey bees once seen on a nearby isle. The swamp is bordered on the north by U.S. 11, on the south by Lake Borgne, on the east by the Pearl River and the west by the West Pearl River. The swamp is located within the Pearl River wildlife management area and managed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. It is one of the least-altered river swamps in the United States. Considered by many to be one of the most pristine swampland habitats in the United States, the Honey Island Swamp covers an area that is over 20 miles (30 km) long and nearly seven miles (10 km) across, with 35,619 of its 70,000 acres (280 km2) government sanctioned as permanently protected wildlife area.

The CSX Rigolets Pass Bridge carries one track of CSX Transportation across the Rigolets on the eastern side of Lake Pontchartrain between New Orleans and St. Tammany Parish, near Slidell.

Rigolets is a 12.9-kilometre-long (8.0 mi) deepwater strait in Louisiana. "Rigolets" comes from the word rigole, French for 'trench' or 'gutter'. The name is now locally pronounced "RIG-uh-leez". The strait begins at 30°10′40″N 89°44′40″W and follows a generally eastward course to Lake Borgne, a lagoon in the Gulf of Mexico, and finally to the Gulf of Mexico, where it ends at 30°09′16″N 89°37′31″W. Along with nearby Chef Menteur Pass, the Rigolets connects Lake Pontchartrain and Lake St. Catherine in Louisiana to Lake Borgne, and then to the Gulf of Mexico. It forms the boundary between New Orleans (Orleans Parish) and St. Tammany Parish.

Pope John Paul II Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Slidell, Louisiana, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans.

SS Alice McGuigin was a two-masted schooner that sank in Lake Borgne off Pearlington, Mississippi, United States in the 1893 Cheniere Caminada hurricane. Under the command of Captain Wm. Delavier with five crewmembers, the schooner was owned by the Poitevent & Favre Lumber Company before lost at sea on October 2, 1893.

The Chef Menteur Bridge (also known as the Chef Menteur Pass Bridge) is a bridge which connects between New Orleans and Slidell, Louisiana. It carries U.S. Route 90 (US 90) across Chef Menteur Pass on the eastern side of Lake Pontchartrain.
