The Parshvanath College of Engineering was a private engineering college located in Kasarvadavali, Thane district of Maharashtra state in India. It was established in 1994, and was managed by the Parshvanath Charitable Trust. It was a Jain religious minority college (i.e., half of all seats are reserved for students from the Jain religious minority community). While it was functioning, it was affiliated to the University of Mumbai (a public university funded by the state government of Maharashtra), was accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) of the Government of India, and was recognised by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of the state government of Maharashtra. It offered undergraduate education leading to the University of Mumbai's "Bachelor of Engineering" (B.E.) degree in any 1 of the following 6 disciplines: mechanical engineering, instrumentation engineering, computer engineering, information technology, civil engineering, and electronics and telecommunication engineering. The ordinary duration of these undergraduate courses is four years. In December 2012, following the conclusion of a case against the AICTE in the Supreme Court of India, the college was closed down, and all students were transferred by the DTE to other engineering colleges of the University of Mumbai for the remainder of their courses.

Kasar Vadavali is a region located on Ghodbunder Road of Thane city in Maharashtra state in India. The area lying between the regions of Waghbil and Bhainderpada is called Kasar Vadavali or simply Vadavali. The area has seen massive population growth with a lot of new residential and commercial projects being completed in the last decade, along with the rise of commercial activity.Ghodbunder Road has rich historical importance and a cultural heritage which dates back to about 600 AD. Two of its temples here are well-known. The one at Kasarvadavali one of the temples is but a minute's drive off the main road. As you turn right at Kasarvadavali junction; straight ahead is a Dargah, behind which is a temple. It is popularly called ‘Ram Temple’. Vishnu Khare the Pujari confirms, "It houses a deity known as ‘Sesh Narayan’ supposedly the only one in Maharashtra though it is extremely popular and common down in south India. No one seems to recollect how that particular idol of the sleeping Lord Vishnu existed here. The temple is also extremely popular for the mannat of 16 Mondays where wishes are fulfilled. Another is the ‘Jagrut’ of the Hanuman Idol on Saturdays." There is only one aarti in the morning at 5.30. The main festivities are on Mahashivratri, Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, Datta Jayanti and the Harinaam Saptah which comes just after Ganesh festival. During the festivity more than 5000 people arrive to the temple. The temple which is located on a lake side and is quiet, scenic and utterly relaxing from inside. It is reputed to be about a hundred and fifty years old and was renovated in 1982. The temple is normally opened between 5 in the morning till 10 at night, but open 24 hours during the main festival days like Mahashivratri, Ram Navami etc. Khare added "Three other small temples are here one is Sheeatla Mata, Kalika Mata and Zari Mari Mata."

Waghbil is an area located in Thane city, Maharashtra, India, nearly 6 kilometers from Thane railway station. The outer part of Waghbil ie Waghbil Naka is an important bus stop for many buses as well as it has a rickshaw stand. Waghbil has increased in size since 1991. Before that time, Waghbil was considered to be a village but has since been absorbed into Thane city. Also in Wagbil there is a residents welfare group Viz. Fishery and farming of rice are the major occupations of this village. Rice bread, steamed rice with meat and fish is their daily diet. Villagers are also involved under business in building material chain. Under which they are providing creek sand and metal stone to local construction projects. Villagers celebrate Ganesh Utsav, Gopal Kala, Navratri, Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navmi and funfairs with much fun and devotion. Mr. Tulshiram Shinge (Senior Social Worker) confirms, Vaishakh Poarnima has first day of Waghbil Fair. On the first day of fair the goddess is worshiped "Mahadu Aai". Second day of the goddess is worshiped "Mari Aai". Villagers organize "Kushti Competition" (कुस्ती स्पर्धा)on the third day. On this occasion many people do travel to participate and watch this competition. This funfair ends on Sanakshti Chaturthi. During the four-day funfair, people from other villages are invited. The main foods eaten are mutton, chicken, and baked bhakris. As per Bandhu Gharat (civilian), local villager was built "Mahadu Aai" temple in a night by for devotion of the goddess. Villagers are also participating every year for "Shirdi pedestrian" after Diwali. Aaagari Vikas Samajik Sanstha in Waghbil Village: Aaagari Vikas Samajik Sanstha is an active non-governmental organization in Waghbil village which was formed in 2010 by the villagers of Waghbil for the betterment of local people.

Sri Ma Vidyalaya is a high school in the Patlipada district of Thane, Maharashtra, India. It is a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) school. Founded in 2002, the school is a part of the Sri Ma Group of Institutions. The group was founded by Sri Tara Ma.

Shubhamraje Junior College is a high school established in the year 2008. It is situated in Thane, near Rutu Estate, Patlipada, opposite Sri Ma Vidyalaya. The principal of this college is Dr. Parmeshwar Shivram Gatkal.

Tikuji-Ni-Wadi is an amusement park, water park, and a resort near Mumbai and at Thane. The amusement park includes go-karts, roller coasters, giant wheels and water park. Additionally, there is a Shiva temple and marriage halls as a part of the resort. During Shivaratri, a Shiva ice replica is made. The park remains open during the rainy season. In 2013, a realistic-looking dinosaur park was started. The park, spread over 20 acres (8.1 ha) of land, is popular for greenery and a "UFO ride". There are several other activities and attractions such as go-karting, bumper-boats, dinosaur world, 9D adventure, aquarium and farm.
