Dreamland Recording Studios is a residential recording studio located in the town of Hurley, New York. Opened in 1986 as a recording facility, the studio is housed in what was once St. John's Church built in 1896.Some of the artists that recorded and produced at Dreamland include The B-52's, Joan Jett, Ace Frehley, Misfits, Bad Brains, The Breeders, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Fleet Foxes, Yo-Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin, Suzanne Vega, Dinosaur Jr., Buffalo Tom, 10,000 Maniacs, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Jackson, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Connells among many others, and more recently The National, Parquet Courts, Jack and Amanda Palmer, Beach House, Kurt Vile and many more.All of the vintage recording gear and instruments that were used from the time of the studio foundation are still in use today. The centerpiece of the control room is a custom built 48 channel in-line API Legacy fit with Neve Flying Faders II. Dreamland still includes its full accommodation facilities for large groups, which enabled many artists to hold residency sessions at the studio. Today, the studio is managed by renowned drummer and composer Jerry Marotta.

Gallis Hill is a 794-foot-tall (242 m) mountain in the Catskill Mountains region of New York. It is located northwest of Kingston in Ulster County. Jockey Hill is located north-northeast, and Morgan Hill is located west of Gallis Hill. In 1927, the Conservation Department built a steel fire lookout tower on the mountain. In 1950, the tower was closed and disassembled then moved to Overlook Mountain, where it still remains today.

The Hurley Historic District encompasses the center of the hamlet of Hurley, the main settlement area of the town of Hurley, New York. Stretched along US 209, the hamlet includes one of the finest concentrations of colonial Dutch architecture in the United States. Settled by the Dutch in the 17th century, its architecture has retained the influence of that period. The village is also historically significant as a temporary home of the seat of New York government during the American Revolutionary War. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961.

The Beaver Kill, sometimes written as the Beaverkill or Beaverkill River, is a tributary of the East Branch Delaware River, a main tributary of the Delaware River, approximately 44 miles (71 km) long, in the U.S. state of New York. The kill drains a 300-square-mile (780 km2) area of the Catskill Mountains and has long been celebrated as one of the most famous trout streams in the United States. Its preservation helped establish many of the basic conservation principles of rivers in the United States. The river has been popular as a trout stream since the early 19th century, when it became one of the first resort destinations in the United States. The subsequent depletion of the brook trout population by the 1850s led to an early conservation movement to preserve the river, including the introduction of hatcheries for brown trout. Its popularity as a trout stream arises in part from the many cold springs and deep pools in the upper river that keep the water at an even cold temperature. The fly fishing industry is centered on Roscoe, home to several fly-shops and bed and breakfasts catering to fishermen from around the world. John A. Coleman Catholic High School was a private, Roman Catholic high school in Hurley, New York. It was under the control of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York until 2001. From its inception in 1966 until its closing on August 31, 2019, Coleman Catholic educated students in grades 9–12.
