Jockey Hill is a ridge located in the Catskill Mountains of New York northeast of Stony Hollow. Gallis Hill is located south-southwest, and Halihan Hill is located east of Jockey Hill.

Stony Hollow, MP 8.3 on the Ulster and Delaware Railroad, was a small, station-agent-lacking flagstop/shelter that served the small town of Stony Hollow, between West Hurley and Kingston, New York, and had very little business. It was located halfway up the Hurley Mountain Grade, and was next to the Route 28A bridge crossing. Because of low traffic at this station, it was eventually closed and torn down.

Dreamland Recording Studios is a residential recording studio located in the town of Hurley, New York. Opened in 1986 as a recording facility, the studio is housed in what was once St. John's Church built in 1896.Some of the artists that recorded and produced at Dreamland include The B-52's, Joan Jett, Ace Frehley, Misfits, Bad Brains, The Breeders, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Fleet Foxes, Yo-Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin, Suzanne Vega, Dinosaur Jr., Buffalo Tom, 10,000 Maniacs, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Jackson, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Connells among many others, and more recently The National, Parquet Courts, Jack and Amanda Palmer, Beach House, Kurt Vile and many more.All of the vintage recording gear and instruments that were used from the time of the studio foundation are still in use today. The centerpiece of the control room is a custom built 48 channel in-line API Legacy fit with Neve Flying Faders II. Dreamland still includes its full accommodation facilities for large groups, which enabled many artists to hold residency sessions at the studio. Today, the studio is managed by renowned drummer and composer Jerry Marotta.

Gallis Hill is a 794-foot-tall (242 m) mountain in the Catskill Mountains region of New York. It is located northwest of Kingston in Ulster County. Jockey Hill is located north-northeast, and Morgan Hill is located west of Gallis Hill. In 1927, the Conservation Department built a steel fire lookout tower on the mountain. In 1950, the tower was closed and disassembled then moved to Overlook Mountain, where it still remains today.

Halihan Hill is a ridge located in the Catskill Mountains of New York east-northeast of Stony Hollow. Jockey Hill is located west and Mount Marion is located north-northeast of Halihan Hill.

WBPM (92.9 FM) is a classic hits radio station licensed to Saugerties, New York, serving the Mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills. The station is owned by Pamal Broadcasting and broadcasts at 6,000 watts ERP from a tower in the Town of Kingston, New York, while its studios are in Beacon. The WBPM calls were previously on 94.3 MHz from 1975 to 2003, that station is today known as WKXP.

Zena is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 1,038. Zena is in the Town of Woodstock on County Route 30. The community is northwest of Kingston. Zena is one of the more wealthy areas of this region, with the average home value above $300,000.

Saw Kill is a 19.7-mile-long (31.7 km) main tributary that drains into Esopus Creek on the Hudson’s west bank.

Ruby is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. The community is 6.3 miles (10.1 km) north of Kingston. Ruby has a post office with ZIP code 12475, which opened on June 2, 1896. The population was 918 at the 2020 census.One-time major league baseball player Dutch Schirick was born in Ruby on June 15, 1890. In 1921, he organized the semi-professional Kingston Colonels team. Schirick went on to become a Supreme Court judge in Kingston.The Roman Catholic Church of St. Wendelinus was founded as a mission station of St. Peter's in Rondoubt. By 1914, it had become a mission of St. Ann's in Sawkill. At that time, the congregation, of English and German descent, numbered approximately 60.

Ulster is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 12,660 at the 2020 census.The town of Ulster is in the northeastern part of the county. The town is directly north of the city of Kingston. Ulster is partially situated inside Catskill Park. The New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) and U.S. Route 9W pass through the western part of the town. U.S. Route 209 crosses the Hudson River from the eastern side of the town.

National Youth Administration Woodstock Resident Work Center is a national historic district located at Woodstock in Ulster County, New York. The district includes seven contributing buildings and three contributing structures. It includes three shop buildings, four shed buildings, a ca. 1900 barn, and a decorative flagpole base. It was built in 1939 by the National Youth Administration and operated until 1942 as a facility devoted to training youths in the industrial arts. The camp is currently used by the Woodstock School of Art.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
