Old Stone House (Brooklyn)

Washington Park is a city owned and operated park located in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Washington Park is both a historic site and a center for recreation; featuring the Old Stone House, a skatepark, basketball courts, a dog run, a multi-use synthetic turf field, and the J. J. Byrne Playground, a child's playground. Washington Park also features a curated garden adjacent to the Old Stone House.

Third Street was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Fifth Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. Served by trains of the BMT Culver Line and BMT Fifth Avenue Line, and had 2 tracks and 1 island platform. The station was opened on June 22, 1889 at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Third Street. The next stop to the north was Union Street. The next stop to the south was Ninth Street. It closed on May 31, 1940.

The bar is owned by Sheila Frayne and opened in 2000 when Park Slope was a lesbian mecca, although it is seen as both a lesbian bar and a woman-friendly neighborhood bar.Ginger's survived the COVID-19 shutdown despite other challenges with which they were already struggling including gentrification, shifts in nightlife trends, and other changes in the neighborhood.

On July 31, 1997, officers from the NYPD Emergency Service Unit raided an apartment in Brooklyn, New York City, after being warned of a planned bombing. Gazi Ibrahim Abu Mezer and Lafi Khalil, both Palestinian illegal immigrants were shot and apprehended during the raid, which located two pipe bombs in the apartment.Mezer, who confessed to having planned to bomb a train on the New York City Subway, received a life sentence for the plot which included charges of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction, while Khalil was acquitted for charges related to the bombing plot and sentenced to three years in prison for immigration fraud.

Public Bath No. 7 is a historic bathhouse located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York City. It was designed by Brooklyn architect Raymond F. Almirall. It was built between 1906 and 1910 and is constructed of white glazed brick and limestone colored terra cotta blocks. The design is based on a Renaissance palazzo. It measures three bays by five bays. The bathhouse was converted to a gymnasium in 1937.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.In the 1990s it was converted to a private events space and renamed The Lyceum.In 2014 the property was lost to foreclosure.In 2017 the building finished restoration.

William B. Cronyn House, also known as the House at 271 Ninth Street, is a historic home in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York City. It was built in 1856 and is a three-story Second Empire style dwelling with a slate covered mansard roof. The roof has ornamental iron cresting and a central half-story cupola with clerestory. In 1888, Charles M. Higgins (1854-1929) acquired the building to use as the Higgins American India Ink factory, and in 1899, added an extension to the factory at 240 Eighth Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Ninth Street was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Fifth Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. Served by trains of the BMT Culver Line and BMT Fifth Avenue Line, and had 2 tracks and 1 island platform. The station was opened on August 15, 1889 at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Ninth Street and had connections to the Smith and Ninth Streets Line and Hamilton Avenue Line streetcars. The next stop to the north was Third Street. The next stop to the south was 16th Street. It closed on May 31, 1940.

The Coignet Stone Company Building (also the Pippen Building) is a historical structure in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York City, at the intersection of Third Street and Third Avenue. Designed by architects William Field and Son and constructed between 1872 and 1873, it is the city's oldest remaining concrete building. The Coignet Building is the last remaining structure of a five-acre concrete factory complex built for the Coignet Agglomerate Company along the Gowanus Canal. The building has a two-story cast-stone facade above a raised basement. The Coignet Building was created using a type of concrete patented by Frenchman François Coignet in the 1850s and manufactured at the Gowanus factory. The Coignet Agglomerate Company, for which the building was erected, was the first United States firm to manufacture Coignet stone. Despite the popularity of Coignet stone at the time of the building's construction, the Coignet Agglomerate Company completely shuttered in 1882. The building was subsequently used by the Brooklyn Improvement Company for seventy-five years until that company, too, closed in 1957. The facade was renovated in the 1960s, but the rest of the building was left to deteriorate for the rest of the 20th century. After Whole Foods Market bought the surrounding factory complex in 2005, the Coignet Building became a New York City designated landmark on June 27, 2006. In conjunction with the construction of the adjacent Whole Foods store, the building was restored between 2014 and 2016.

The Union Street station is a local station on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. It is located at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Union Street in Brooklyn, New York City, serving the communities of Park Slope, Gowanus and Carroll Gardens. It is served by the R train at all times. The D and N trains also stop here during late nights, and some rush-hour W trains stop here in the peak direction. The Union Street station was constructed as part of the Fourth Avenue Line, which was approved in 1905. Construction on the segment of the line that includes Union Street started on December 20, 1909, and was completed in September 1912. The station opened on June 22, 1915, as part of the initial portion of the BMT Fourth Avenue Line to 59th Street. The station's platforms were lengthened in 1926–1927, and again during a renovation in 1968–1970. The station was also renovated in 1970 and in the mid-1990s.
