Castle of Almourol

Almourol is an islet in the Tagus river, in the civil parish of Praia do Ribatejo, Center Region, Portugal. The small island lies in the middle of the Tagus, a few meters below its confluence with the Zêzere River. The castle of Almourol, a Portuguese National Monument, dominates the islet. It stands opposite the town of Tancos.

The Zêzere runs through the town Manteigas, runs through Belmonte, passes south of the city of Covilhã and east of the town of Pedrogão Grande. It flows into the Tagus in Constância. It is the second longest river entirely within Portuguese territory (the Mondego being the longest). Its slope allows for the hydroelectric powerplants of Cabril, Bouçã and Castelo de Bode.

Constância is a parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Constância in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 993, in an area of 8.83 km². It was originally named Punhete.

The village of Vila Nova da Barquinha, which is the seat of the municipality, has about 3500 inhabitants. The present Mayor is Vítor Miguel Pombeiro, elected by the Socialist Party. The municipal holiday is June 13.

The Nabão (Portuguese pronunciation: [nɐˈbɐ̃w]) is a river in Portugal. It rises in Ansião and passes through the city of Tomar before joining the Zêzere River — a course of about 66 kilometres (41 mi). It was known to the Romans as Nabanus. The swift waters of the Nabão once fed the factories of Tomar.The river is associated with the tale of Santa Iria. In 2013, development work in Tomar includes construction of road and foot bridges, promenades and gardens.

The Church of Atalaia (Portuguese: Igreja da Atalaia) is a church in the civil parish of Atalaia, municipality of Vila Nova da Barquinha, in the Centro region of Portugal. The Renaissance-era religious building, has been molded by successive layers of Mannerist and Baroque decorative and structural elements, that include the portico, but whose origin dates to the Gothic architecture of the early 16th century (that includes the roofing, vaulted-ceilings and two-level presbytery). The unique central tower, Baroque azulejo tile-work and 16th century pulpit are important characteristics of this parish church.

Situated in the Ribatejo, it benefits from its geo-strategic position along the Tagus Valley, with important accessibility to the motorways and railway lines that historically promoted its growth and expansion.

Montalvo is a parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Constância in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 1,275, in an area of 12.81 km².

Castelo do Bode Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Zêzere River, a tributary of the Tagus River, located southwest of Tomar and north of Constância, in Santarém District, Portugal. It is one of the tallest structures in Portugal. The dam was constructed between 1945 and 1951. It also supports a 138 MW hydroelectric power station which was commissioned between 1951 and 1952.
