Gladbeck

Gladbeck West station is located in the German city of Gladbeck in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Oberhausen-Osterfeld Süd–Hamm line and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. The station was opened 1 May 1905 by the Prussian state railways.It is served by Regional-Express service RE 14: Emscher-Münsterland-Express (Essen–Bottrop-Gladbeck-Dorsten), train part 1 Borken (Westf) / train part 2 Coesfeld (Westf) and Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 9 (Recklinghausen / Haltern–Wuppertal / Hagen). Special 15 minutes tact RE 14 / S 9 : (Gladbeck-West - Bottrop Hbf, Essen-Borbeck, Essen Hbf). S 9 separation station Recklinghausen or GE-Buer, Marl, Haltern am See It is also served by five bus routes: SB36, 253, 254 and 258 (all operated by Vestische Straßenbahnen every 20/30 minutes) and 188 (operated by Busverkehr Rheinland every 60 minutes).

Wittringen Castle or Wittringen House (German: Schloss Wittringen or Haus Wittringen) is a moated castle in Gladbeck, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Stadion Gladbeck is a multi-use stadium in Gladbeck, Germany . It was used as the stadium of Germania Gladbeck before they disbanded. The stadium has 15,000 seats in total, and houses all kind of facilities for athletes. During WWII, the stadium was badly damaged by the Allied Forces. The three entrance structures and the standing wall of the east side was destroyed, with bomb craters in the field. It was fixed by the good samaritans of the city in 1947. In October 2008, the stadium was used to shoot a film.

It is also served by three bus routes: 260 (every 20 minutes), 265 (every 20 minutes) and 266 (every 60 minutes), all operated by Vestische Straßenbahnen.

The Tetrahedron in Bottrop (German: Bottrop Tetraeder or officially Haldenereignis Emscherblick) is a walkable steel structure in the form of a tetrahedron with a side length of 60m, resting on four 9m tall concrete pillars. It is located in Bottrop, Germany, on top of the mine dump Halde Beckstraße and serves as the town's landmark. It was opened on German Unity Day 3 October 1995. The design is reminiscent of the Sierpinski tetrix: placing four half-size tetrahedra corner to corner and adding an octahedron in the middle, a full-size tetrahedron is formed; this process can be repeated recursively to form larger and larger tetrahedra.

Schloss Beck (Beck Castle) is a Baroque castle in Bottrop, Germany, planned and built as a “maison de plaisance” between 1766 and 1777 by Johann Conrad Schlaun. It is currently run as an amusement park.

Mathias-Stinnes-Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Essen, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 12,000 people. In 1956 it was used as venue for the first unofficial fixture of a German female national team.

Bottrop (German pronunciation: [ˈbɔtʁɔp] (listen)) is a city in west-central Germany, on the Rhine–Herne Canal, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Located in the Ruhr industrial area, Bottrop adjoins Essen, Oberhausen, Gladbeck, and Dorsten. The city had been a coal-mining and rail center and contains factories producing coal-tar derivatives, chemicals, textiles, and machinery. Bottrop grew as a mining center beginning in the 1860s, was chartered as a city in 1921, and bombed during the Oil Campaign of World War II. In 1975, it unified with the neighbouring communities of Gladbeck and Kirchhellen, but Gladbeck left it in 1976, leading to Kirchhellen becoming a district of Bottrop as Bottrop-Kirchhellen. It is also twinned with Blackpool, England.
