Argoed, Flintshire

The River Terrig (Welsh: Afon Terrig) is a small river in north-east Wales. The river rises at Llyn Cyfynwy near Graianrhyd village in the community of Llanarmon-yn-Ial, Denbighshire, about three miles from the source of the River Alyn. It then flows northwards and eastwards, forming the boundary between the old parishes of Nercwys and Treuddyn. At Nant-y-Mynydd it is joined by several small springs from Mynydd Ddu, and finally itself joins the River Alyn at Pontblyddyn, Flintshire.The Terrig is a habitat for brown trout. Its name is derived from its rapid flow after times of heavy rain; Thomas Pennant, in his Tours in Wales, described it as "the Terrig, or the violent, [...] often of a tremendous swell and fury".

Llong railway station was a station in Llong, Flintshire, Wales. The station was opened on 14 August 1849 and closed on 30 April 1962. The station building is now a private residence.In 1947 there were 8 trains a day each way.

Padeswood & Buckley railway station was a station in Padeswood, Flintshire, Wales. The station was opened around October 1850 and closed on 6 January 1958. Only the stationmaster's house remains as a private residence.

Buckley (Welsh: Bwcle [ˈbʊklɛ]) is a town and community in Flintshire, north-east Wales, two miles (3 km) from the county town of Mold and contiguous with the villages of Ewloe, Alltami and Mynydd Isa. It is on the A549 road, with the larger A55 road passing nearby. Buckley is the second-largest town in Flintshire in terms of population. At the 2011 Census, its community had a population of 15,665. When the contiguous Argoed community is included, Buckley has a population of 21,502. A prominent nearby landmark is the Hanson Cement kiln just south of the town.

Leeswood and Pontblyddyn is a community in Flintshire, Wales in the United Kingdom, including the villages of Leeswood and Pontblyddyn.The council was known as Leeswood Community Council before 26 January 2016. It is made of 11 elected councillors, 9 representing the Leeswood ward and 2 representing Pontblyddyn.The community covers the same area as the Leeswood electoral ward of Flintshire County Council, which elects one councillor.

Alyn and Deeside (Welsh: Alun a Glannau Dyfrdwy) was one of six local government districts in the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales from 1974 to 1996. There is still a parliamentary constituency of the same name.

Leeswood (Welsh: Coed-llai) is a village, community and electoral ward in Flintshire, Wales, about four miles from the historic market town of Mold. At the 2001 census, the population was 2,143, reducing slightly to 2,135 at the 2011 census.It was the centre of attention during the Mold Riot of 1869, where the owners of the mine refused to allow the speaking of the Welsh language in the mines. Around a quarter of Leeswood's resident population has some knowledge of the Welsh language, exceeding the county's average of 21.4%. In all categories of linguistic competency, the ward performs around the Flintshire average, although the proportion of those able only to understand spoken Welsh is higher than the county and national average. The famous White Gates of Leeswood Hall were attributed to the Davies brothers of Wrexham. The family of smiths were known in the 18th century for their high-quality work using wrought-iron. The Wynne baronets were later to live in Leeswood Hall around the middle of the 18th century. The family history of the baronets can be traced to the lineage of Welsh kings and princes, as well as Owain Glyndŵr.

Leeswood Hall is a country house in Leeswood, Flintshire, Wales. Dating from 1742, it was built for George Wynne, the design being attributed to Francis Smith. Construction reputedly cost £40,000. The hall is a Grade II* listed building. To the northwest of the hall stand the White Gates, which have their own Grade I listing. The gates terminate the view from the hall across the lawns, an early and rare example of 18th century parkland design by Stephen Switzer, and a Grade I listed landscape of national significance.

Pontblyddyn is a small village outside Leeswood, in Flintshire, Wales and is situated around 8 miles from Wrexham. Plas Teg, one of the most important Jacobean era houses in Wales, is located near the village.

Pentrehobyn is a large house standing just to the south-east of Mold, Flintshire, Wales. The present hall dates mainly from the mid-17th century, although parts may be older, and it includes later additions. The estate was owned, and the hall built, by the Lloyd family, local landowners who served as agents to the Lords of Penryhn in the 19th century. The hall is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building. An attached llettau (lodgings) block has its own Grade I listing. The gardens and grounds are designated Grade II on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Alltami is a small village in Flintshire, in northeast Wales northwest of Buckley and northeast of Mold. It lies on the A494 road which runs from Ellesmere Port to Dolgellau. There is a stream running through the village, Alltami Brook. There is a crossroads at Alltami with traffic lights; they were proposed to be installed in February 1981.
