Leeswood Hall is a country house in Leeswood, Flintshire, Wales. Dating from 1742, it was built for George Wynne, the design being attributed to Francis Smith. Construction reputedly cost £40,000. The hall is a Grade II* listed building. To the northwest of the hall stand the White Gates, which have their own Grade I listing. The gates terminate the view from the hall across the lawns, an early and rare example of 18th century parkland design by Stephen Switzer, and a Grade I listed landscape of national significance.

Mold (Welsh: Yr Wyddgrug) is a town and community in Flintshire, Wales, on the River Alyn. It is the county town and administrative seat of Flintshire County Council, as it was of Clwyd from 1974 to 1996. According to the 2011 UK census, it had a population of 10,058. A 2019 estimate puts it at 10,123.

The A541 is an A road in North Wales. The road starts on the A525 in Trefnant, between St Asaph and Denbigh, and ends in Wrexham. On the way, it passes the town of Mold. It also passes through many villages. In northern-central Wrexham it joins the B5101 road. The section of the road between Mold and Denbigh, centred on Rhydymwyn, was described by North Wales Police as the most dangerous road in North Wales.

The Mold gold cape (Welsh: Clogyn Aur yr Wyddgrug) is a ceremonial cape of solid sheet-gold from Wales dating from about 1900–1600 BCE in the British Bronze Age. It was found at Bryn yr Ellyllon burial mound near Mold, Flintshire in 1833.The cape is thought to have formed part of a ceremonial dress, perhaps with religious connections. It is now in the British Museum in London, where it is usually on display.

Mynydd Isa ([ˌmənɨ̞ð ˈɪsa]; Welsh: Mynyddisa) is a village in Flintshire, in north-east Wales. It lies between the county town of Mold, and Buckley (which it is contiguous with) in the community of Argoed which had a population of 5837 according to the 2011 census. Mynydd Isa was originally a small hamlet on the north side of the Mold to Buckley road (now the A549 road) just downhill from the now demolished Calvinist chapel. It did not appear on Ordnance Survey maps until 1912. Its placename is Welsh for "lowest mountain". Another old hamlet nearby was Pant-y-Fownog, on the same road nearer Buckley (centred on the Griffin Inn); although the name was used well into the 1900s on picture postcards of the area and by the local Co-Op shop next to the Inn. The name has long since become disused (except for lending its name to a road in nearby Buckley). Bryn-y-Baal [ˌbrɨ̞nəˈbɑːl] is an old hamlet much enlarged since the 1970s and now contiguous with but not part of Mynydd Isa. Bryn-y-Baal takes its name from a Middle English word "bale" (rhymes with "Carl" in arhotic British English) meaning small hill and Bryn (Welsh for hill), i.e. hill hill. It was later written in a Welsh language form as 'bâl' with a circumflex over the "â". In Welsh this is pronounced as a long A. This form appears on early Ordnance Survey maps. Eventually it was written in the Anglicised form 'Baal' - still correctly pronounced to rhyme with "Carl".In the area there is a secondary school known as Argoed High School in Bryn-y-Baal and a primary school Ysgol Mynydd Isa - the Junior department being in Bryn-y-Baal (formerly Ysgol y Bryn and before that Mynydd Isa Junior School), and the Infants department (formerly known as Wat's Dyke Infant School) on a separate site in Mynydd Isa. The local community council is Argoed Community Council (Cyngor Cymunedol Argoed) - Argoed being the name of the ancient township which had covered the area since the Middle Ages, which also gives its name to the local secondary school. Amenities include a pub, The Griffin on Mold Road. (The Mercia on Mercia Drive closed in 2010, and is now a supermarket), various shops and the village centre which houses a cafe 'Caffi Isa', a community interest group located in the old library and other clubs and associations. The village has a large youth organisation (established in 1984) with football teams representing the village in the county league from 7 to 16 years old and adult football dating back to the 1930s; however the adult team disbanded in 2009. Famous people to have grown up in mynydd Isa include Ian Clayton Blackburn Rovers player in the 1990s.

Llong railway station was a station in Llong, Flintshire, Wales. The station was opened on 14 August 1849 and closed on 30 April 1962. The station building is now a private residence.In 1947 there were 8 trains a day each way.

Alun School is a secondary school located in the community of Mold, Flintshire, Wales. It was formed in 1970 as a result of the merger of the Alun Grammar School and the Daniel Owen Secondary Modern School. Some of the school's present buildings, such as the Daniel Owen Building, date from 1938. The remainder were opened on the formation of the current comprehensive or built in the years since. In 1989, 1432 students attended the school; by 2009 the number was 1762, with over 550 students in the sixth form and over 120 teachers. The main school remains over-subscribed and the Sixth Form is one of the biggest in Wales. The school is sometimes known colloquially as Mold Alun, to distinguish it from the nearby Castell Alun secondary school in Hope.

Leeswood and Pontblyddyn is a community in Flintshire, Wales in the United Kingdom, including the villages of Leeswood and Pontblyddyn.The council was known as Leeswood Community Council before 26 January 2016. It is made of 11 elected councillors, 9 representing the Leeswood ward and 2 representing Pontblyddyn.The community covers the same area as the Leeswood electoral ward of Flintshire County Council, which elects one councillor.

Ysgol Maes Garmon is an 11–18 mixed, Welsh-medium community secondary school and sixth form in Mold, Flintshire, Wales. It was established in 1961 and is the only Welsh-medium High school in Flintshire.It shares some of its facilities with Alun School.Although Ysgol Maes Garmon is a Welsh-medium school, it welcomes pupils who cannot yet speak the Welsh language, running an immersion programme to help students from English-medium primary schools to learn Welsh. The school has been active in supporting Welsh-medium education. In 2016 a documentary, OMG: Ysgol Ni!, was filmed at the school by S4C.As of 2021, the school's most recent inspection by Estyn was in December 2019, with judgements of Adequate and needs improvement for Standards, for Teaching and learning experiences and for Leadership and management; and Good for Wellbeing and attitudes to learning and for Care, support and guidance.

Mold railway station in Mold, Flintshire, Wales, opened on 14 August 1849 as the terminus of a double-track line from the Chester and Holyhead Railway, starting at Saltney near Chester. It was joined in September 1869 by Mold and Denbigh Junction Railway. In January 1892 a line opened between Mold and Coed Talon, which was extended in 1898 to Brymbo.

St John the Evangelist's Church, was a Welsh church in King Street, Mold, Flintshire, North Wales (grid reference SJ238641). It is now redundant as a church; it has been divided and is used as a church hall. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade II listed building.The church was built in 1878 to 1879 and designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. It is in brown rubble stone with dressings of red Helsby sandstone and a red-tiled roof. The interior is broad, without aisles.

The River Terrig (Welsh: Afon Terrig) is a small river in north-east Wales. The river rises at Llyn Cyfynwy near Graianrhyd village in the community of Llanarmon-yn-Ial, Denbighshire, about three miles from the source of the River Alyn. It then flows northwards and eastwards, forming the boundary between the old parishes of Nercwys and Treuddyn. At Nant-y-Mynydd it is joined by several small springs from Mynydd Ddu, and finally itself joins the River Alyn at Pontblyddyn, Flintshire.The Terrig is a habitat for brown trout. Its name is derived from its rapid flow after times of heavy rain; Thomas Pennant, in his Tours in Wales, described it as "the Terrig, or the violent, [...] often of a tremendous swell and fury".
