Ancaster railway station

Ancaster was a small town in the Roman province of Britannia. It is sited on the Roman road known as the Ermine Street and is situated in the county of Lincolnshire. Its name in Latin is unknown, although it has traditionally been identified with Causennis or Causennæ, a name which occurs as a town on the route of Iter V recorded in the Antonine Itinerary. Rivet and Smith questioned this identification in 1979, and suggested that a more likely identification would be either the Roman settlement at Salters ford, near Grantham in Lincolnshire, or at Sapperton in Lincolnshire.

Wilsford is a village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish was 400 at the 2011 census.

Royal Air Force Barkston Heath or RAF Barkston Heath (ICAO: EGYE) is a Royal Air Force Relief Landing Ground under the command of RAF Cranwell near Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. RAF Barkston Heath has the Naval Element of No. 3 Flying Training School RAF (3 FTS) which, for a period between approximately 1995 and 2010, operated the Slingsby T67M260 Firefly, followed by the Grob Tutor T.1 operated between 2010 and 2018. No. 3 FTS currently provide elementary flying training for Royal Navy students on the Grob Prefect T.1. A secondary role of RAF Barkston Heath is as a Relief Landing Ground for the flying training activities at RAF Cranwell.

Kelby is a village in the civil parish of Culverthorpe and Kelby, in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies 5 miles (8 km) south-west from Sleaford, 9 miles (14 km) north-east from Grantham and 3 miles (5 km) south-east from Ancaster. Kelby was formerly a chapelry in the parish of Haydor, in 1866 Kelby became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Culverthorpe to form "Culverthorpe and Kelby". In 1921 the parish had a population of 61.Kelby church is dedicated to St Andrew. Its tower was rebuilt in 1881 after a collapse. The church basement is Norman and the font Early English, with pews originally from the chapel at nearby Grade II listed Culverthorpe Hall.A chapel for Primitive Methodists was established in 1859.

Byard's Leap is a hamlet in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) west from Cranwell, and is part of the civil parish of Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap. The hamlet is associated with various legends. Byard's Leap is associated with the activities of the Knights Templar, who perhaps held tournaments and jousts on the site. It lay at the southern end of their Temple Bruer military training ground.

Caythorpe Court is a Grade II* listed former hunting lodge situated about one mile to the east of Caythorpe, Lincolnshire, England. It was originally built in 1901 for Edgar Lubbock, a brewer and banker, to the designs of Sir Reginald Blomfield. In 1946 it became the Kesteven Agricultural College, which was renamed the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture from September 1980. The college became the De Montfort School of Agriculture, but the site was closed in 2002. After being sold to property developers, who proposed to use it to house asylum seekers, it was acquired by PGL who now operate it as a centre for adventure based holidays for adults and children.

Oasby is a hamlet in the civil parish of Heydour, in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Grantham. Oasby, Heydour, Aisby, Culverthorpe and Kelby are the five hamlets within Heydour parish. Oasby Manor House is a Grade II* listed building dating from the 17th century with reused 15th-century stonework and 19th-century alterations. There is a 15th-century Oriel window on the first floor.Manor House Farm is a 17th-century single story Grade II listed farmhouse.Oasby Mill is a tower windmill, built about 1810 of black bitumen painted ashlar. It is Grade II listed, and all machinery has been removed.The village public house, the Houblon Arms, was built about 1700 and is Grade II listed.The parish holds community events, usually in Aisby village hall, with a book club, art club, cricket club, annual art exhibition and January pantomime.

The Royal Air Force College (RAFC) is the Royal Air Force military academy which provides initial training to all RAF personnel who are preparing to become commissioned officers. The College also provides initial training to aircrew cadets and is responsible for all RAF recruiting along with officer and aircrew selection. Originally established as a naval aviation training centre during World War I, the College was established as the world's first air academy in 1919. During World War II, the College was closed and its facilities were used as a flying training school. Reopening after the War, the College absorbed the Royal Air Force Technical College in 1966. The Royal Air Force College is based at RAF Cranwell near Sleaford in Lincolnshire, and is sometimes titled as the Royal Air Force College Cranwell.

Heydour is a hamlet and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The parish population of 286 at the 2001 census rose to 311 at the 2011 census. Heydour lies about 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Sleaford and 6 miles (10 km) north-east of Grantham. It forms a group of parish hamlets with Kelby, Culverthorpe, Oasby and Aisby.
