Cobb Center

Campbell High School is a public high school and International Baccalaureate magnet school located in Smyrna, Georgia, United States, northwest of Atlanta. It is part of the Cobb County School District. The school implemented the International Baccalaureate diploma program in 1997, serving as a magnet school for the Cobb County School District.

Fair Oaks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 9,028 at the 2020 census. Fair Oaks lies just outside the city limits of Smyrna and Marietta, and the area uses "Smyrna" or "Marietta" for its mailing addresses. Except for actual residents of Fair Oaks, very few locals even know it exists as a separately-counted area. The name is also rarely used by local businesses, even in the immediate area. The area was named for its many mature native oak trees. This, however, is threatened by nearby Dobbins Air Reserve Base and new Federal Aviation Administration regulations regarding flight paths for takeoff and landing. In 2005, the lower house of the Georgia General Assembly passed a resolution in support of the community, which was built in the early 20th century, well before the military base.[1]

Robert L. Osborne High School is a public high school located north of Atlanta in Marietta, Georgia, United States. It is the oldest high school in Cobb County. It has about 2,090 students. The school mascot is the cardinal, and the school colors are red and white.

Air Force Plant 6, known during World War II as the Bell Bomber Plant, is a government-owned, contractor-operated aerospace facility at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia, currently owned by the United States Air Force and operated by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. The plant, originally occupied by Bell Aircraft, began operation in April 1943 and was intended specifically to produce B-29 Superfortresses under license from Boeing. During the course of the War, the factory produced 668 B-29s for the United States Army Air Forces, and at its peak had a work force of approximately 28,000. After the War the factory was mothballed, but with the United States's entrance into the Korean War, in January 1951 the plant was turned over to Lockheed who began refurbishing B-29s. The plant remains in use today by Lockheed.

The Smyrna Public Library is an independent municipal library in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is located at 100 Village Green Circle in downtown Smyrna. It is the only public library in the county which is not a part of the Cobb County Public Library System. An educational and cultural resource for the residents, the library offers a wide variety of services to the community. The library collection has grown to over 130,000 items in a wide variety of formats. Books, audiobooks, DVDs, videotapes, music CDs, and government documents can all be checked out by cardholders. There is free Internet access, and the library is a Wi-Fi hotspot. The library's reference collection includes over 8,000 volumes with special collections on military and genealogy. Access is also provided to over 200 computer databases through online subscriptions or on CD-ROM. The children's department presents more than 40 programs a month and was the recipient of the 2005 Georgia Library Association Eason Associates Program Award. The Friends of the Smyrna Library is one of the largest "Library Friends" groups in Georgia. They raise money for library activities and sponsor monthly adult speaker programs, a book discussion group, art exhibits, an annual dinner theatre, and the Murder Goes South Mystery Festival.

Camp Kudzu is a nonprofit organization that provides camping-based educational opportunities for children and teens with Type 1 diabetes. The program is run within the state of Georgia. Camp Kudzu was founded in 1999 by parents of diabetic children and medical professionals as means to support children in Georgia with Type One Diabetes. It held its first summer camp at Camp Twin Lakes in June of 2000 and its first family camp in 2002. The following year, the program expanded to run camps at both Camp Twin Lakes and Camp Barney.

Chattahoochee Technical College (Chattahoochee Tech, CTC, or Chatt Tech) is a public technical college in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is governed by the Technical College System of Georgia and has eight campuses in the north-northwest metro-Atlanta area, and another just outside the region. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) to award technical certificates of credit, diplomas, and associate degrees. The college was formed in 2009 as the result of the merger of Appalachian Technical College, Chattahoochee Technical College, and North Metro Technical College.

The Glover–McLeod–Garrison House, in Marietta, Georgia, also known as Bushy Park and as Rocking Chair Hill, is a Greek Revival-style house which was built in 1847-51 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It was built and/or designed by Willis Ball. It was built for entrepreneur John Heyward Glover, who sold it in 1851 and went on to build the Glover-Blair-Anderson House (c.1851) also in Marietta, said to be "one of the finest antebellum structures in Marietta", and also NRHP-listed as part of the Northwest Marietta Historic District. It was listed with address 250 Garrison Rd., SE, but that part of the street is called Magnolia Chase Dr. as of 2017. It was vacant from 1931 to 1939, then purchased and restored.It was listed on the National Register in 1977.

Smyrna is a city in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. It is located northwest of Atlanta, and is in the inner ring of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. It is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs–Alpharetta MSA, which is included in the Atlanta–Athens-Clarke–Sandy Springs CSA. From 2000 to 2012, Smyrna grew by 28%; historically it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state, and one of the most densely populated cities in the metro area.Smyrna was ranked #44 in Money's 2018 survey of "The Best Places to Live in America" for balancing economic growth, affordability, and quality of life.

The Cobb County School District (CCSD) is the county government agency which operates public schools in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The school district includes all of Cobb County except for the Marietta City Schools, though a number of schools in unincorporated parts of the county have Marietta addresses. It is the second-largest school system in Georgia (behind only Gwinnett County Public Schools) and 23rd largest in the United States. The district is the county's largest employer and one of the largest in the US (at least in school systems). All Cobb County schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and the district is among the first to have earned district-wide accreditation. The superintendent of the school district is Chris Ragsdale.
