Mobberley railway station

Bucklow Rural District was, from 1894 to 1974, a local government district in the north of the administrative county of Cheshire, England. Following the Local Government Act 1972, this rural district was split between the new Greater Manchester boroughs of Trafford and Manchester, and Macclesfield, which was retained in Cheshire. Knutsford was an enclave and independent urban district surrounded by Bucklow RD, as was Altrincham until it expanded enough to link up with other districts in the north. The district was formed in 1894 based on Altrincham rural sanitary district by the Local Government Act 1894. It was known as the Altrincham Rural District until 1895. The three civil parishes of Northenden, Northen Etchells and Baguley were also part of the Bucklow Rural District until 1931, when Manchester Corporation, which had been given the Wythenshawe estate for municipal housing development, successfully petitioned Parliament to enable their transfer into Manchester.It was abolished and split up under the Local Government Act 1972 in 1974. The parish of Ringway (including Manchester Airport) went to Manchester, and the parishes of Carrington, Dunham Massey, Partington and Warburton went to Trafford. The remainder remained in Cheshire and became part of the new Macclesfield district.

Dukenfield Hall is a country house between Knutsford and Mobberley in Cheshire, England. Dukenfield Hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is constructed in plum-coloured brick with stone dressings, and has a stone-slate roof. The house is in two storeys plus an attic. Its entrance front is E-shaped, and has three projecting wings with gables. Associated with the house are two structures listed at Grade II. These are the gate piers to the forecourt, and a barn.The house was originally called Podmore House. It originated in the late 16th or early 17th century as a small cruck-framed house, entered at one end. During the 17th century it was faced with brick, cross wings were added and the roof was heightened. Further additions were made to the house in the 19th and 20th centuries. Since 1987 Dukenfield Hall has been home to David Briggs and his family. Since 2010 he has served as the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire.

The village is close to the border with Greater Manchester, just to the south of the M56 motorway and Manchester Airport. Neighbouring villages include Hale, Rostherne and Mobberley. There is a public house, The Greyhound Inn. The Brereton family were Lords of the Manor of Ashley for several generations, from the reign of Henry VIII to about 1660. Ashley Cricket Club was founded in 1888.

Tatton Old Hall is a historic building in Tatton Park near Knutsford, Cheshire, England. It is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building which is owned by the National Trust and administered in conjunction with Cheshire East Council. It is also known as one of the most haunted houses in Britain and is home to The Haunted Hunts official haunted collection. Paranormal investigations take place on a monthly basis under the guidance of The Haunted Hunts team. Its site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Gaddum's Wood is a woodland in Cheshire, England, near Wilmslow. It covers a total area of 0.52 hectares (1.28 acres). It is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust.

Ashley Hall is a country house standing to the north of the village of Ashley, Cheshire, England. It dates from the late 16th to the early 17th century, with additions made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The house is historically important because it was here that the Cheshire gentlemen met in 1715 to decide whether to support the Stuarts or the Hanoverians. They decided on the latter and later commissioned a set of portraits, which now hang in Tatton Hall. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Also listed at Grade II are the gate piers to the forecourt of the building, a carriage house in the forecourt, the kitchen garden wall, and the stable block. For the 2019 biopic Tolkien, 15 acres of the Tatton Estate were used to recreate the trenches of the First World War.

Warburton Green is a district of Hale Barns, Greater Manchester. It is situated to the south east of the centre of the village, close to the M56 and River Bollin. The housing estate grew up around the original hamlet, which was formed by Tanyard Farm and neighbouring properties on Chapel Lane. Warburton Green was originally in Ringway parish.
