Westlake is a city and the 39th municipality in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area of South Florida. The population was 906 at the 2020 US Census.

Loxahatchee Groves is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 3,180. Loxahatchee Groves was incorporated November 1, 2006, as the 38th municipality in Palm Beach County. The first election for town council members was held on March 13, 2007. The area had been settled since 1917, although Loxahatchee Groves did not become a municipality until 2006. The town bills itself as "Florida's Last Frontier". Loxahatchee Groves was incorporated primarily in order to protect the area from the encroaching urbanization of South Florida, as nearby cities continued to develop and to preserve the area's rural character. The town derives its name from the Loxahatchee River. "Loxahatchee" is from the Seminole words lowchow (turtle) and hatchee (river), thus translating to "river of turtles". Loxahatchee Groves is bounded on the east by Royal Palm Beach, on the south by Wellington, and on the west and the north by The Acreage and Loxahatchee. It has an area of approximately 12.5 square miles (32.4 km2).

The West County Energy Center is a natural gas power plant in Palm Beach County, Florida. The power plant features three 1,250MW multi-shaft combined cycle gas turbine generating units on a 220-acre (89 ha) site. The facility has been online since 2009, with all three generators reaching completion in 2011. It is the largest natural gas power plant in the United States.

Royal Palm Beach Pines Natural Area is a 773-acre area of protected land in Royal Palm Beach, Florida that includes pine flatwoods and wet prairie. There are hiking and equestrian trails, a nature trail, and boardwalk. The park is located at 110 Nature's Way or the northern entrance on 40th Street and Avocado Boulevard.

The Acreage is an unincorporated community located in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States, with a 2010 US Census Bureau population count of 38,704. It is located in the areas north of Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee Groves, and is approximately 18 miles (29 km) northwest of West Palm Beach. Most of the population lives in single-family homes on 1.14 acres (4,600 m2) and larger lots. It straddles the western fringes of the highly developed eastern portion of Palm Beach County and the agricultural-rural western portions. Its large, spacious home site lots, dirt roads and many wooded areas give the area a rural character, although it is widely considered to be an exurban outgrowth of the South Florida Metropolitan Area. The Acreage is located solely within the Indian Trail Improvement District, responsible for maintaining the road and drainage systems within its boundaries.

The Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) is an annual equestrian festival running for 13 weeks between January and March in Wellington, Florida. Each of the 13 weeks is considered its own horse show, with separate competitions, as well as competitions that run throughout the festival. It is the largest and longest-running equestrian competition in the world. The Winter Equestrian Festival is known for its stunning grounds and villages, stiff competition, and wealth of its participants. Wellington International, which hosts the equestrian festival, is a 111-acre (45 ha) venue in Wellington. The grounds of the festival consist of, 18 competition arenas, as well as 400 permanent horse stalls. The Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) is known for its sprawling grounds and horse themed streets. Competitors and residents can access over 57 miles of different trails surrounding the equestrian facility. The Grand Prix Village is known to house the most elite competitors and for its exclusive locations just walking distance from the festival. Participants range from two to seventy years old and bring with them an estimated 8,000 horses. The competition has a wide range of divisions for people of all skill level. It offers competitions for children, junior, adult amateur, and professional equestrians in over 70 different divisions In the course of three months, this largest and longest running horse show sees only the best riders of their class: Olympians, adult amateurs, juniors, and children from more than 35 different countries. Among these people and horses are some of the best riders for each division, of those athletes, the United States, and the world. WEF began to attract the equestrian community after the 1970s. What initially began to draw the wealthy participants was the established International Polo Club. The 2022 WEF awarded over $13 million in prize money. The competitors aren't the only elite ones attending the festival, the horses are among the best money can buy and with more than 8,000 horses on property their net worth totals well over half a billion The wealth of the participants is a huge staple in the culture of the Winter Equestrian Festival. Some of the members are a movie actor, a baseball star, and approximately 5 billionaires, among the five two of the world's top twenty richest people.

The Riddle House is an old Edwardian house located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The house was built in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1905 by some of Henry Flagler's hotel construction workers. Originally known as "Gatekeeper's Cottage", the house was home to the groundskeeper of Woodlawn Cemetery. By 1920, the house became privately owned by Karl Riddle, a city manager and superintendent of West Palm Beach. He is the namesake of the house. The house was eventually dismantled and moved to Yesteryear Village in 1995, a historical park within the South Florida Fairgrounds. The building was featured in an episode of Ghost Adventures in 2008.

Royal Palm Beach is a village in southeast Florida, located within Palm Beach County. The population was measured at 34,140 in the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami Metropolitan Area. Despite its name, the village is located approximately fifteen miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean. Royal Palm Beach is known for its many parks and general mission to protect green space, as evidenced by the recent acquisition of 190 acres (0.77 km2) to create a master central park and the development of 25 acres (100,000 m2) preserved into a passive bird watching and nature park. Loxahatchee is located within the Indian Trails Improvement District and the Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District. Lion Country Safari, a drive-through safari park, is located in Loxahatchee. The state of Florida approved the incorporation of part of Loxahatchee, as the Town of Loxahatchee Groves, in 2006, which became the 38th municipality in Palm Beach County. The main reason for incorporating was to protect the area from encroaching growth, and to preserve the rural character of the neighborhood. Loxahatchee is perhaps the most rural area within proximity to West Palm Beach, with lot sizes ranging from 1-20 acres. Loxahatchee and the adjacent The Acreage are notable for loose land restrictions and the presence of native and exotic animals. The Seminole Ridge Community High School serves the area.
