Ringwood Waldorf School

Avon Lodge was a private untimetabled railway station in the county of Hampshire (now Dorset), opened on 13 November 1862 by the Ringwood, Christchurch and Bournemouth Railway. Becoming part of the London and South Western Railway, it was taken into the Southern Railway in the grouping of 1923 and closed on 30 September 1935.

Avon Heath Country Park is a Green Flag–awarded park located in St Leonards, Dorset, approx 10 miles north of Bournemouth. The park is dominated by acres of lowland and wetland heath, grassland and heather, while pine and birch woodlands make up much of the rest of the scenery. The park contains internationally important wildlife, including rare species such as sand lizards, smooth snakes, Dartford warblers, woodlarks and the silver-studded blue butterfly. Facilities including a discovery centre, a café that's open daily, picnic areas, a children's adventure playground, and barbecues to hire.

St Ives is a village in the county of Dorset in the south of England. It lies close to the border between Dorset and Hampshire, near Ringwood, Verwood and Ferndown. The village is adjacent to St Leonards and Ashley Heath. The parish of St Leonards and St Ives has a population of 6,672 (2001); 41.6% are retired. The joint population including two electoral wards (east & west) had risen to 6,859 at the 2011 Census.The village has a shop and post office, a doctor's surgery, an ex-services club and two public houses. A youth club is situated in Braeside Park, St Leonards, next to the scout hut and the village hall. St Ives First School has 128 students between the ages of 4–9 years old. In 2008 Ofsted described the school as "outstanding". The school contains a swimming pool which is open to the public during the summer months, and holds several community events such as the strawberry fair and Easter fair. To the north is Moors Valley Country Park which has many attractions such as train rides, cycle tracks, a fishing lake and a café. To the south is Avon Heath Country Park which has a large visitor centre, play park and picnic area. To the east of the park, by the river Avon, is Avon Castle, a country house built about 1872 and now divided into apartments.

The Castleman Trailway is a footpath in Southern England. Portions of the trailway are also used as a cyclepath but the middle section from East Wimborne (close to The Old Thatch public house) to the River Allen bridge (just south of Wimborne) is not cyclable. One trailhead is on Barrack Lane in Ringwood and the other trailhead is the car park at Upton Country Park. (From here, a cycle path runs along the sea front, all the way to Poole railway station). The entire Castleman Trailway path is waymarked. The path passes through the villages of Ashley Heath, West Moors, Oakley, Broadstone and Upton, as well as Upton Heath and Upton Country Park.The trailway is part of the former Southampton and Dorchester Railway line which ran from Brockenhurst to Hamworthy Junction via Ringwood. It was known as "The Old Road". This circuitous route was promoted in the 19th century by the Wimborne solicitor Charles Castleman, and was chosen because of the need to run through populated areas at a time when Bournemouth was a small village. Many people called it "The Castleman Corkscrew" owing to the number of curves.

Ringwood is a closed railway station in the county of Hampshire, England which served the town of Ringwood. It lay on the former Southampton and Dorchester Railway, the original main line from a connection with the London and South Western Railway at Southampton through Brockenhurst to Dorchester. The later development of Bournemouth as a major town led to the building of a branch from Ringwood through to Christchurch, later extended to Bournemouth - see Ringwood, Christchurch and Bournemouth Railway. In 1885 the present main line from Brockenhurst to Christchurch and on to Poole via what is now Bournemouth Central was opened and the Ringwood to Christchurch line relegated to branch status, closing to all traffic in 1935. The Southampton and Dorchester line continued to carry all the trains to Dorchester and beyond to Weymouth until the Holes Bay Curve linking Poole with Hamworthy Junction opened in 1893. From then passenger trains were mostly restricted to local services between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth West, although at various times there were through services on a daily or weekly basis to places such as Weymouth, Southampton and Eastleigh. With the build-up of holiday traffic in the 20th century, the route also proved a useful alternative to the congested Bournemouth line for summer Saturday trains to Weymouth and Swanage. Through goods trains also continued regularly to use the line. The central section of the Southampton and Dorchester Railway from Lymington Junction (exclusive) to Broadstone Junction (exclusive) was closed to passengers on 4 May 1964, one of the first closures following the Beeching Report of March 1963. The line east of Ringwood was closed completely and the track lifted in 1965. However public goods services continued from the Poole direction until August 1967 and the track was shortly thereafter lifted back to the RAOC fuel depot at West Moors.

Ringwood School (opened in 1959) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form situated in Ringwood, Hampshire, England. It was a specialist Language College and became an academy in April 2011, and gained National Teaching School status in July 2011. The school was one of the first 100 designated a Teaching School in the United Kingdom in July 2011.

Blashford is a small hamlet of approx. 65 dwellings situated close to the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Ringwood, which lies approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) south from the village. It is in the civil parish of Ellingham, Harbridge and Ibsley. In the late 1900s the area was subject to a series of gravel extractions and became a landscape of interconnecting open lakes and wet meadows. The area has recovered spectacularly since the days of gravel extraction and become a haven for all sorts of wildlife, including waterfowl, bats, otters and moths. Blashford is home to the Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. The 490 acres (200 ha) wildlife reserve is managed by the Wildlife Trust in partnership with the New Forest District Council and landowners Wessex Water and Bournemouth and West Hampshire Water. Blashford Lakes is an internationally important site for thousands of wildfowl. Its importance is recognised by its SSSI, Ramsar, SPA (Special Protection Area) and SINC (Site of Importance for Nature Conservation) protection status. Several other parts of Blashford also have this status, including open lakes and the River Avon and associated flood plain. Linking these sites is an area of wetland known locally as Blashford Wet Meadows.

Somerley is a large Georgian Grade II* listed English country house that is situated in the civil parish of Ellingham and Harbridge with Ibsley in the New Forest district in Hampshire, England. It is 2 miles (3 km) west of the New Forest National Park. The nearest town is Ringwood, which lies approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) south-east from the House, just east of the River Avon. Somerley House is perched overlooking the Estate. The River Avon meanders through this vast 7,000 acre Somerley Estate, providing a wildlife rich environment for a diverse range of habitats including; parkland, water meadows and woodland. The Estate features a walled garden and an ancient woodland. The house is the home of the seventh Earl of Normanton. It was designed by English architect Samuel Wyatt in 1792–1795, and the house became the property of Lord Normanton's family in 1825. In 1850 a 90ft picture gallery was added to house the family's paintings and collections; today this space is used for events. It is not open to the public although it is available for weddings, filming, and corporate and private event hire.The house was a filming location for the 1983 TV adaptation of Mansfield Park and more recently portrayed Highgrove House in the Netflix series, The Crown. In addition, Somerley has featured in the first season of the TV show Bridgerton Somerley Park is home to a golf club.

Ringwood is a market town in south-west Hampshire, England, on the River Avon close to the New Forest, northeast of Bournemouth and southwest of Southampton. It was founded by the Anglo-Saxons, and has held a weekly market since the Middle Ages.

Ashley Heath is a village in Dorset, England adjacent to the villages of St Leonards and St Ives. Together these make up the majority of the St Leonards and St Ives civil parish. In Braeside Park, St Leonards, there is a youth club next to the village hall and the Scout hut. It was once served by Ashley Heath Halt railway station on the Southampton and Dorchester Railway the route of which is now known as the Castleman Trailway. Unusually part of one platform, including a station name board, remain.

St Leonards is a village in south east Dorset, England, situated on the A31 road approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south-west of Ringwood, Hampshire, 8 miles (13 km) north of Bournemouth and 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of Ferndown. With adjacent St Ives and Ashley Heath, it forms the civil parish of St Leonards and St Ives, which had a population of 6,859 in 2011. The village is part of the historic county of Hampshire (it was transferred to Dorset for administrative purposes following the Local Government Act 1972). The village has a youth club for ages 10–18 on a Monday and Wednesday, situated in Braeside Park near the village hall and by the scout hut.

Ashley Heath Halt was a railway station on the Southampton and Dorchester Railway formerly in the county of Hampshire (now part of Dorset). Opened in 1927, it served the areas of St Leonards and St Ives as well as the village of Ashley Heath itself. This was an emerging residential area, the northern part of what is now the South East Dorset conurbation. The halt consisted of two concrete platforms each with a shelter. There was also a public siding for goods traffic behind the down (south) side platform. The halt was closed during the Beeching Axe, losing its passenger trains in 1964.
