Studley College

Studley Castle is a 19th-century country house at Studley, Warwickshire, England. The Grade II* listed building is now occupied as a Warner Leisure Hotel but was once owned by the Lyttelton family before being bequeathed by Philip Lyttleton to his niece Dorothy, who married Francis Holyoake. Their son Francis Lyttelton Holyoake, the High Sheriff of Warwickshire in 1834, inherited Ribston Hall in Yorkshire from a business partner in 1833 and changed his name to Holyoake-Goodricke. The sale of the Yorkshire property financed the building of a new mansion at Studley. The new house, designed in Gothic Revival style by the architect Samuel Beazley, was completed in 1836. The building has never actually been used as a castle. The site of the medieval castle at Studley is occupied by the nearby 16th-century house known as Old Studley Castle. The house was occupied by Studley College between 1903 and the early 1960s and was used as a horticultural training establishment for ladies. It later became training and Marketing Centre for the former automotive brand, Rover. In more recent times the Castle was converted for use as a hotel. After a £50 million refurbishment it reopened in April 2019 as the 14th hotel in the Warner Leisure Hotels collection.

Spernall is a remote village 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Alcester in the parish of Oldberrow, Morton Bagot, and Spernall, in the Stratford-on-Avon District of Warwickshire, England. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 153. It is situated on the banks of the small River Arrow, the name meaning Spera's border. Early forms of the name are Spernore. and Spernoure in the 1327 Subsidy Roll. The village consists only of the church and rectory and a few scattered farms and cottages. At some time between 1195 and 1361 the parish was largely depopulated by pestilence, so that many of the villein tenements, which had hitherto accounted for almost the whole population, came into the hands of freemen. This may well refer to the Black Death; the priest at Spernall, Nicholas atte Yate, died in 1349 and there was another institution in 1351. In the 17th century the population seems to have mainly consisted of substantial farmers, for in 1625 it is described as a place with 'few or no poor at all in it and many wealthy inhabitants', and the Hearth Tax returns (1662–74) show the high average of about 2.5 hearths per house. By 1696, there were only two yeomen with an estate of £10 a year or more.

Mappleborough Green is a small village and civil parish in Warwickshire, in the non-metropolitan district of Stratford-on-Avon. The village has a population of 540 and the civil parish 857.Mappleborough Green lies on the extreme western edge of Warwickshire adjacent to Redditch and thus forming part of the county border with Worcestershire, and adjoins the parishes of Studley, Tanworth-in-Arden, Beoley, Morton Bagot and Oldberrow. The western edge of the parish is largely aligned with the A435 trunk road from Evesham to Birmingham.

Studley is a large village and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district of Warwickshire, England. Situated on the western edge of Warwickshire near the border with Worcestershire, it is 3.5 miles (6 km) southeast of Redditch and 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Roman road of Ryknild Street, now the A435, passes through the village on its eastern edge, parallel to the River Arrow. The name derives from the Old English leah, being a meadow or pasture, where horses, stod, are kept.The United Kingdom Census 2001 reported Studley's population as being 6,624, decreasing to 5,879 at the 2011 Census.

Studley High School is a mixed secondary school located in Studley in the English county of Warwickshire.Previously a foundation school administered by Warwickshire County Council, Studley High School converted to academy status in June 2011. However the school continues to coordinate with Warwickshire County Council for admissions. The school offers GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils.

Coughton Court (grid reference SP080604) is an English Tudor country house, situated on the main road between Studley and Alcester in Warwickshire. It is a Grade I listed building. The house has a long crenellated façade directly facing the main road, at the centre of which is the Tudor Gatehouse, dating from after 1536; this has hexagonal turrets and oriel windows in the English Renaissance style. The Gatehouse is the oldest part of the house and is flanked by later wings, in the Strawberry Hill Gothic style, popularised by Horace Walpole.

RSA Academy Arrow Vale (formerly Arrow Vale High School) is a co-educational upper school and sixth form with academy status located in Redditch, Worcestershire, England. The school is sponsored by the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce opening as an RSA Academy in September 2012. The school is a member of the RSA Family of Academies.It currently has around 620 students on roll with 180 in the sixth form.

St Peter and St Paul and St Elizabeth Catholic Church is a Catholic church built between 1851 and 1853 by the Throckmorton family in the grounds of their family home, Coughton Court. The church was commissioned by Sir Robert Throckmorton, 8th Baronet, in the years after the Catholic Emancipation Acts which would re-allow the profession of the Catholic faith officially for the first time since the Tudor period. The church currently holds Grade II listed status.
