Prestbury railway station

Prestbury is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England, about 1.5 miles (3 km) north of Macclesfield. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 3,324; it increased slightly to 3,471 at the 2011 census. Alongside fellow "Cheshire Golden Triangle" villages, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge, it is one of the more sought-after places in the north. The ecclesiastical parish is almost the same as the former Prestbury local government ward which consisted of the civil parishes of Prestbury, Adlington and Mottram St Andrew.

Butley Hall is a former large house, now converted into flats, in the village of Prestbury, Cheshire. It was rebuilt in 1777 for Peter Downes. The house was extended by an addition to the north in the 19th century, and converted into flats during the 20th century. It is constructed in sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, it has Kerridge stone-slate roofs, and five brick chimneys. The main front of the house is in two storeys and seven bays. The central three bays protrude forwards and are surmounted by a triangular pediment. On each side of the front are wings with Venetian windows. To the rear of the house is the front of an earlier three-storeyed house dating from the 17th century. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

St Peter's Church is the parish church of Prestbury, Cheshire, England. It is probably the fourth church on the site. The third, the Norman Chapel, stands in the churchyard. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The Norman Chapel, the lychgate and west wall, the Hearse House, and the sundial in the churchyard are listed at Grade II. It is a Church of England parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the deanery of Macclesfield.

Bonis Hall is a former country house to the north of Prestbury, Cheshire, England. It was the seat of the Pigot family until 1746, when it was bought by Charles Legh of Adlington. In the early part of the 19th century it was remodelled and used by the Legh family as a dower house. In the early 20th century the exterior was pebbledashed, and castellations were added It is constructed in brick, with Kerridge stone-slate roofs. The house is in two storeys and has a seven-bay front with coped gables surmounted by ball and urn finials. On top of the building is a square tower with a pyramidal roof surmounted by a hexagonal bellcote with a copper cupola and weathervane. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The Duke of York (later King George VI) occasionally stayed at Bonis Hall with its owner Sir Robert Burrows.It has since been converted for varied uses, mainly as offices and studios, by several companies. It was for some years the Staff College for the Midland Bank. It then became The Bonis Hall Country Club. During this time a swimming pool was added and also a large entertainment room cum discoteque. This modern addition was in stark contrast to the existing structure. It then became home to the Manchester branch of Royds Advertising Group, who converted the discoteque into their drawing office. This was extended, in matching style, as more space was required. It is today (2023) the Manchester Campus of yet another advertising company, the McCann Worldgroup. This company has undertaken many further alterations and additions to the site. The disco/drawing office has been replaced by a large, two story oval structure in steel and glass, which now links the main building with the coaching house.

Mill House is a former country house in the parish of Adlington, Cheshire, England. It is dated 1603, and was built by Sir Uriah Legh, of the Legh family of Adlington, as a dower house. Alterations were made to it in the middle of the 18th century and in the early 20th century. It is a timber-framed building with some plastered brick infill; it has a Kerridge stone-slate roof. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Tytherington Old Hall is a former country house in the Tytherington area of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It was built in the late 16th century for the Worth family. The building was much altered during the 20th century, and as of 2010 was in use as an office. Since 2006, it has been renovated and converted to a family home. The house is constructed in timber framing on a stone plinth with stone-flagged roofs. The timber-framing includes close studding and herringbone decoration. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Egerton Hall, Manchester was founded as a Theological College in 1908 to train Anglican clergy to serve in the Church of England.It was located in Oxford Place and closed in 1944.

Tytherington is an area in the north of Macclesfield in Cheshire, England. It comprises a large residential housing estate and has a church, Tytherington Family Worship Church, an academy school, Tytherington School and a golf club. Tytherington Wood forms part of Macclesfield Riverside Park. Tytherington Business Park lies to the north-east. Manchester Road divides the housing estate, the "Dorchester Way area" being to the west and "Rugby Drive area" to the east. Rugby Drive derives its name from Macclesfield Rugby Club, since relocated to Prestbury. The rugby pitch remains but is used predominantly for football. Tytherington has become a relatively affluent residential area, the average house price being around £320,000.

The King's School, Macclesfield, is an independent school for day pupils in Prestbury, Cheshire, England, and a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference. It was founded in 1502 by Sir John Percyvale, a former Lord Mayor of London, as Macclesfield Grammar School.

St Oswald's Church is in Bollington Cross, Bollington, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Macclesfield, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Normans Hall is a Tudor house which stands to the southwest of the village of Prestbury, Cheshire, England. It is an L-shaped house, the south range dating from the 16th century. Additions were made in the 17th century, and repairs were carried out in the early 18th century. The east range was built in 1921 for H. B. Crook, and was designed by Henry Boddington. The south range is partly timber-framed, and partly brick, standing on a stone plinth. The east wing is in brick, with a timber-framed gabled bay dated 1921 at the junction of the ranges. The roofs are in Kerridge stone slate. The hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
