Escambia County is the westernmost and oldest county in the U.S. state of Florida. It is in the state's northwestern corner. At the 2020 census, the population was 321,905. Its county seat and largest city is Pensacola. Escambia County is included within the Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent, Florida, Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county population has continued to increase as the suburbs of Pensacola have developed.

Cantonment is located north of Pensacola, and south of Molino. It is a bedroom community of Pensacola, and is located in the Pensacola Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cantonment is centered around Highway 29, and extends to the Perdido River to the west, and the Escambia River to the east. Cantonment comprises the 32533 zip code (which includes the Gonzalez area) that claims (as of the 2010 census) an estimated population of 26,493 for a land area of 76.1072 square miles (197.117 km2) and a water area of 0.1257 square miles (0.326 km2).

J.M. Tate High School is a public high school in Cantonment, Florida, United States. The school is part of the Escambia County School District.

Gonzalez is a census-designated place (CDP) in Escambia County, Florida. Gonzalez is located north of Pensacola, and is considered to be within Cantonment. Tate High School, the largest public school in Escambia County, is located in the Gonzalez area. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 14,586.

The 1969 U.S. Women's Open was the 24th U.S. Women's Open, held June 26–29 at Scenic Hills Country Club in Pensacola, Florida. Donna Caponi, age 24, won the first of her two consecutive U.S. Women's Opens, one stroke ahead of runner-up Peggy Wilson. It was the first of four major titles for Caponi and the first of 24 victories on the LPGA Tour. Caponi was five strokes behind Ruth Jessen at the start of the final round, played in oppressive 108 °F (42 °C) heat and humidity. After hitting her tee shot on the 72nd hole, there was a brief weather delay due to a thunderstorm and she returned with a birdie for a final round 69 (−4).

The Pensacola Ladies Invitational was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour from 1965 to 1968. It was played at the Scenic Hills Country Club in Pensacola, Florida.

Ensley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Escambia County, Florida. It is a community in Pensacola, and is located northwest of Pensacola City Limits. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 20,602. It is part of the Pensacola–Ferry Pass–Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ensley is a transportation corridor for the Pensacola Area, with US-90 ALT, US-29, and Interstate 10 running through Ensley.

The University of West Florida (West Florida or UWF) is a public university in Pensacola, Florida, United States. Established in 1963 as a member institution of the State University System of Florida, the University of West Florida is a comprehensive research university without faculties of law or medicine, a designated space-grant institution, and sits on the third largest campus in the State University System, at 1,600 acres (650 ha). The university's mascot is Argie the Argonaut and its logo is the chambered nautilus.

The Pace Library holds the archives of the British Indian-trading firm Panton, Leslie & Company, headquarter in Pensacola, and of the firm's attorney, John Innerarity.

The Beulah Landfill Superfund Site is a 101-acre (41 ha) Superfund site located in Escambia County, Florida, about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of downtown Pensacola, Florida. The site is surrounded by pine woods in all directions but the south. It is lying undeveloped and in use as a model airplane field. A timber company owns a majority of the surrounding property which it uses as timber farms.

Wallace is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. Its population was 1,785 as of the 2010 census.
