Ubachsberg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈybɑɣzbɛr(ə)x]) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Voerendaal.The village was first mentioned in 1380 as "opten Berch", and means "hill of the Ubachs family". Ubachsberg developed in the Early Middle Ages on the road from Simpelveld to Sittard.The Catholic St Bernardus Church is a neoclassic cruciform church built in 1842.Restaurant De Leuf (2 Michelin stars) is located in the village.

Op de Vrouweheide (English: On the Vrouweheide) is a windmill located on the Vrouwenheide just south of Ubachsberg, Voerendaal, in the Dutch province of Limburg. Built in 1858 as a tower mill, on an artificial hill, the windmill functioned as a gristmill. The mill is a national monument (nr 37893) since 17 January 1967.

The Vrouwenheide (Women's heath) is a hill in the Netherlands and former heath land, just south of Ubachsberg in the municipality of Voerendaal. With a height of 218 metres above NAP it is one of the highest points in the European part of the Netherlands.

The village lies southeast of Trintelen and west of Simpelveld. In 2016, the village had an estimated population of 80.

Huls (Limburgish: De Huls) is a hamlet in the southeastern Netherlands. It is part of the municipality of Simpelveld in the province of Limburg, about 20 km east of Maastricht. The village lies on a hill, north of Simpelveld, and south of Ubachsberg. In 2008 the village had a population of 350 on an area of 0.44 km2. On the hillside south of Huls lies Hulsveld, a hamlet sharing the same name with a population of 1630. Since the hamlets share a single built-up area, and are both located on the hill called Huls, the village Huls is sometimes mistaken to include Hulsveld.

Eys (Dutch: [ɛis]; Limburgish: Ees [ˈeːs]) is a village in the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem, Limburg, the Netherlands. The town is located 3 km. from Gulpen and 17 km. from provincial capital Maastricht. Furthermore, it is characterised by its location in the hilly landscape of South Limburg. The village was first mentioned in 1193 in a document of the Sint-Pauluskapittel of Liège, Belgium, and was named after the river Eyserbeek.The Eyserbosweg (the road ('weg') that leads from the village to the forest ('bos')) is one of the hills to be climbed in the yearly professional cycle race Amstel Gold Race, first held in 1966. The organiser is not sure when the Eyserbosweg was first involved in the race. It was also the hill that featured in the Open Dutch Championship Bag Carrying ('zakkendragen'), a race against the clock in which people had to carry a bag with sand up the one kilometer long hill. The weight of the bag was 25 kg (women), 50 kg, 75 kg or 100 kg (men). That championship had its roots in a bet made by a farmer who claimed in 1956 that his farm help would be able to carry a 100 kg bag to the top.

Sintermeertencollege is a comprehensive school in Heerlen, the Netherlands, established in 1967. The school was founded by the Bernardinuscollege as a dependence school for the Bernardinuscollege in Heerlen-west (Welten) Netherlands. The school expanded in the 1980s with the Clara Mavo (vocational education) and merged with Coriovallum College in 1990. In 1993 Sintermeertencollege moved to a new premises at Valkenburgerweg 219 in Heerlen, a modern 3 storey building. Welten is a village in Heerlen, still retaining its village like appearance. A couple of landmarks remain in Welten, including a church dating back to the 11th century though restored in the 19th century, and the Weltermolen (Weltermill), a watermill powered by the Geleenbeek. The Weltermolen dates back to at least the 14th century.

The Bulkemsmolen (English: Bulkem's Mill) is a former watermill located on the Bulkemstraat 43 in Bulkemsbroek, Simpelveld, Netherlands. Built in 1753 along the Eyserbeek river, the watermill functioned as gristmill until 1978. Currently it functions as housing for a local farm. The mill is a national monument (nr 33588) since 1967. Of the original mill only the millhouse, wooden overshot water wheel, of 3.9m diameter and 1.2m width, and the mill race remain.
