The Mad River is a 17.9-mile-long (28.8 km) river in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Pemigewasset River, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The Mad River begins at the Greeley Ponds in Mad River Notch, a mountain pass between Mount Osceola to the west and Mount Kancamagus to the east, in the township of Livermore. The river descends to the south, followed by the Greeley Pond Trail, to the town of Waterville Valley, where the West Branch enters. After winding through the Waterville Valley Resort community, the Mad River proceeds southwest over continuous boulder-strewn rapids into a corner of the town of Thornton, eventually settling out in Campton Pond in the town of Campton. Passing over a small hydroelectric dam at Campton Upper Village, the river descends over some small waterfalls and enters the floodplain of the Pemigewasset River, which it joins near Interstate 93. For most of the river's length below Waterville Valley, it is paralleled by New Hampshire Route 49.

The Beebe River is a 16.7-mile-long (26.9 km) river located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Pemigewasset River, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The Beebe River begins at Black Mountain Pond on the southern slopes of Sandwich Mountain, a 3,993-foot (1,217 m) summit in the southern White Mountains, in the town of Sandwich. The river drops off the mountain to the south, then turns west to travel through Sandwich Notch, staying in a wooded valley and entering the town of Campton. The valley broadens as the river approaches the village of Campton Hollow, where the river reaches New Hampshire Route 175 and drops over some small waterfalls. The river passes by the old industrial community of Beebe River and reaches the Pemigewasset River next to Interstate 93.

Campton is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 3,343 at the 2020 census. Campton, which includes the villages of Blair, Campton Hollow, Lower Campton and West Campton, is home to Blair State Forest and Livermore Falls State Forest. It is located in the foothills of the White Mountains, and parts of the White Mountain National Forest are in the northeast and northwest.

Barney and Betty Hill were an American couple who claimed they were abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of the state of New Hampshire from September 19 to 20, 1961. The incident came to be called the "Hill Abduction" and the "Zeta Reticuli Incident" because two ufologists connected the star map shown to Betty Hill with the Zeta Reticuli system. Their story was adapted into the best-selling 1966 book The Interrupted Journey and the 1975 television film The UFO Incident. Most of Betty Hill's notes, tapes, and other items have been placed in the permanent collection at the University of New Hampshire, her alma mater. In July 2011, the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources marked the site of the alleged craft's first approach with a historical marker. The Hills' story was widely publicized in books and movies.

WPNH (1300 AM) and WFTN (1240 AM) are commercial radio stations in Central New Hampshire. WPNH is licensed to Plymouth, and WFTN is licensed to Franklin. The stations are branded as "Oldies 92.9" and simulcast an oldies format, featuring an unusually deep and vast playlist offering the first generation of rock and roll of the 1960s. WPNH and WFTN also offer select hits from the late 1950s and the early to mid 1970s. The stations also carry Boston Red Sox during the baseball season. The studios are in Franklin, along with co-owned WPNH-FM, WFTN-FM and WSCY. Prior to the addition of both of their 92.9 FM translators, WFTN and WPNH featured programming from Westwood One's "America's Best Music" adult standards format. WPNH is a Class D station with 5,000 watts days and 88 watts at night, non directional while WFTN is a Class C station with 1,000 watts 24 hours a day. The stations also can be heard on FM via two translators, both at 92.9 MHz: W225CB in Tilton, New Hampshire (relaying WFTN), and W225CT in Plymouth, New Hampshire (relaying WPNH). The "Oldies 92.9" branding is derived from the translators' frequency. The stations do not stream their programming over the internet.

The Baker River, or Asquamchumauke (an Abenaki word meaning "salmon spawning place"), is a 36.4-mile-long (58.6 km) river in the White Mountains region of New Hampshire in the United States. It rises on the south side of Mount Moosilauke and runs south and east to empty into the Pemigewasset River in Plymouth. The river traverses the towns of Warren, Wentworth, and Rumney. It is part of the Merrimack River watershed. The Baker River's name recalls Lt. Thomas Baker (1682–1753), whose company of 34 scouts from Northampton, Massachusetts, passed down the river's valley in 1712 and destroyed a Pemigewasset Indian village. Along this river on April 28, 1752, John Stark and Amos Eastman were captured by Abenaki warriors and taken to Saint-François-du-Lac, Quebec, near Montreal. John Stark's brother William Stark escaped, and David Stinson was killed during the ambush. On the 1835 Thomas Bradford map of New Hampshire, the river is shown as "Bakers" River, originating on "Mooshillock Mtn."

Plymouth Regional High School (PRHS) is a public high school in Plymouth, New Hampshire, United States. Surrounding towns that attend PRHS are Plymouth, Ashland, Holderness, Campton, Rumney, Wentworth, Warren, Ellsworth, Waterville Valley and Thornton. Bruce Parsons is the current principal. The facility, opened in 1970, is located on Old Ward Bridge Road in Plymouth. It also housed Plymouth Elementary School until 1990. Plymouth Regional was known as Plymouth Area High School until 1991. The school colors are navy blue and white.

New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district covers the western, northern, and some southern parts of New Hampshire. It includes the state's second-largest city, Nashua, as well as the state capital, Concord. It is currently represented in the United States House of Representatives by Democrat Ann McLane Kuster. Although the district appears rural, it is classified by the Census Bureau as a majority-urban district, since a large share of the district's population lies within more densely populated areas in Hillsborough, Rockingham, and Merrimack counties. The district is home to the Dartmouth College, the state's second largest college. Some of the largest employers in the district are Dartmouth Hitchcock, Dartmouth College, Southern New Hampshire Health System, and BAE Systems.

Plymouth Municipal Airport (FAA LID: 1P1) is a public airport located in Plymouth, New Hampshire, three miles (5 km) north-west of the central business district of Plymouth, in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a local general aviation facility.The airport is equipped with an AWOS III-PT which provides meteorological information to pilots and other interested parties.

Plymouth State University (PSU), formerly Plymouth State College, is a public university in the towns of Plymouth and Holderness, New Hampshire. As of fall 2020, Plymouth State University enrolls 4,491 students (3,739 undergraduate students and 752 graduate students). The school was founded as Plymouth Normal School in 1871. Since that time, it has evolved to a teachers college, a state college, and finally to a state university in 2003. PSU is part of the University System of New Hampshire.
