The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception (Portuguese: Sé Catedral de Nossa Senhora da Conceição; Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição do Colégio dos Jesuítas) also called Santarém Cathedral formerly known as Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, is located in the historic centre of Santarém, more precisely in the parish of São Salvador in Portugal.

Most of the area belongs to the Santarém District.For EU statistical purposes, it was divided between the Lezíria do Tejo, Médio Tejo, Lisbon metropolitan area and Alto Alentejo subregions (NUTS III), belonging to the Centro, Lisbon and Alentejo EU statistical regions (NUTS II).

The District of Santarém (Portuguese: Distrito de Santarém [sɐ̃tɐˈɾɐ̃j] ) is a district of Portugal, located in Portugal's Centro Region. The district capital is the city of Santarém. The district is the 3rd largest in Portugal, with an area of 6,747 km2 (2,605 sq mi), and a population of 475,344 inhabitants, giving it a population density of 70 people per sq. kilometer (180 people per sq. mile). Once part of the historical region of Ribatejo, the district was created by order of the European Union, not taking into consideration historical boundaries or cultures.

The Comunidade Intermunicipal da Lezíria do Tejo (Portuguese pronunciation: [lɨˈziɾia ðu ˈtɛʒu]; English: Tagus Floodplain) is an administrative division in Portugal. It was established as an Associação de Municípios in 1987, converted into a Comunidade Urbana in 2003, and converted into a Comunidade Intermunicipal in November 2008. It is also a NUTS3 subregion of the Alentejo Region. The seat of the intermunicipal community is the city of Santarém. Lezíria do Tejo comprises municipalities of the former districts of Santarém and Lisbon. The population in 2011 was 247,453, in an area of 4,275 square kilometres (1,651 sq mi). In the past, the territory of this administrative division was roughly entirely set in the former historical province of Ribatejo and had nothing to do with the former historical province of Alentejo. Lezíria is the Portuguese word (from the Arabic الجزيرة, al-jazira, "the island") for floodplain or freshwater marsh. Tejo is the name of the main river in the region. The Lezíria is a well-renowned center of intensive farming, horse breeding and animal husbandry.
