Garth, Ceredigion

Trefeurig is a community in Mid and West Wales, situated around 4 miles (6.4 km) north-east of Aberystwyth. It is a site of particular prehistoric, Roman, and Iron Age interest, and has a long history as a mining area. In 2011 the local population was estimated at 1,771 people.

Penrhyn-coch is a small Welsh village, in the community of Trefeurig, Ceredigion, located between the Afon Stewi and Nant Seilo rivers, close to where they merge into the Afon Clarach. The village is approximately 4+1⁄2 miles (7.2 km) north-east of Aberystwyth. The village has expanded since the 1970s with several housing estates being built. There are around 480 houses and an estimated population of 1,037 (2005). Most of the working population is employed in Aberystwyth or at the nearby Aberystwyth University, Institute of Biological and Environmental Research.

Penrhyncoch Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Pêl Droed Penrhyncoch) is a semi-professional football club based in Penrhyn-coch, Ceredigion, Wales. They currently play in the Ardal NE, the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid. The club was founded in 1965 and have played at their current home ground, Cae Baker, since its founding.

Ystrad Peithyll (also known as Stradpeithyll in the Brut y Tywysogion and Rhosgoch Motte) is the remains of a small 12th-century motte-and-bailey castle on the River Peithyll, near Penrhyn-coch in northern Ceredigion, Wales. The castle was attacked and destroyed by followers of Gruffydd ap Rhys in the early 12th century.

Salem is a small Welsh village in Ceredigion, located between the Afon Stewi and Nant Seilo rivers. The closest village is Penrhyn-coch. The Salem Independent Church was built in 1864, in a similar style to the older church at Capel Bangor.In 1998, a hoard of Roman coins was discovered within the village by metal detector, following a routine pipe excavation by Welsh Water. The 48 coins featured a range of 3rd century emperors, and were displayed in the Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth. The hoard is believed to date from the 290s, as a single coin of Carausius (ruled 287–293) was found at the site.

Dole, Ceredigion is a small village in the community of Tirymynach, Ceredigion, Wales. Dole is represented in the Senedd by Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru) and the Member of Parliament is Ben Lake (Plaid Cymru). It was the home of Baron Elystan Morgan of Aberteifi until his death on 7 July 2021.

Gogerddan, or in English, Gogarthen, was an estate near to Trefeurig and the most important in what was then the county of Cardiganshire, Wales. Owned since at least the fifteenth century by the Pryse family, the main house, called Plas Gogerddan, still stands and is a Grade II listed building. The estate became especially wealthy from the seventeenth century on the profits from lead mining, which is when the house was constructed. The house was significantly altered in the 1860s and was sold by Sir Pryse Loveden Saunders-Pryse to University College of Wales in 1949.Gogerddan provisionally held the high temperature record for Wales – 35.3°C, which was recorded on 18 July 2022. It replaced the previous record holder Hawarden which held the record for almost 32 years. This record was short-lived, however, as by the end of the same day, Hawarden recorded a temperature of 37.1°C.
