North Grenville

Kemptville College is a community college based in Kemptville, Ontario, and was formerly a satellite campus of the Ontario Agricultural College as part of the University of Guelph.

North Grenville District High School (NGDHS), is a secondary school in the community of Kemptville, Ontario. It is part of the Upper Canada District School Board and is currently at 2605 Concession Road, Kemptville, ON, K0G 1J0. Prior to 2012, North Grenville District High School was located at 304 Prescott Street, Kemptville, Ontario, K0G 1J0.

Kemptville is a community located in the Municipality of North Grenville in Eastern Ontario, Canada in the northernmost part of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. It is located approximately 56 km (35 mi) south of the downtown core of Ottawa and 2.5 to 3 km (1.6 to 1.9 mi) south of the Rideau River. The community can be accessed by Highway 416, also known as the Veterans Memorial Highway, which was completed in 1999, and from Leeds and Grenville Road 43 (formerly Highway 43). Kemptville is the largest community in North Grenville, with about 69% of North Grenville's population. Three elementary schools are located in the town — Holy Cross Catholic School, Kemptville Public School and South Branch Elementary School — two high schools — North Grenville District High School and St. Michael Catholic High School — three parks, and two hotels. The residential area is generally located in the south and east parts of the community. The main streets are Rideau, Prescott, Clothier and Van Buren streets. A creek named Kemptville Creek divides Kemptville in the southeast, where the least part of Kemptville is found. The creek begins southwest of Kemptville and empties 4 km (2.5 mi) NE into the Rideau River. Much of Kemptville is forested, especially east and north of the community. Farmland covers the rest of the area, especially the west and the southern part of the community, with some exceptions. There are some homes lying next to the farmland.

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario administers Catholic education for children up to grade 12, in the easternmost counties of Ontario, Canada (an amalgamation of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, Prescott and Russell, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry) including the cities of Brockville, Clarence-Rockland, Carleton Place and Cornwall. There are elections for Trustees held periodically. It has 28 elementary schools and the following ten high schools:

Actons Corners is a community in the municipality of North Grenville, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, in eastern Ontario, Canada. An unincorporated place and compact rural community, it is located on County Road 43 (formerly provincial Highway 43) between Kemptville and Merrickville at the intersection with Actons Corners Road (north to the Rideau River) and County Road 25 (south to Oxford Mills). Except for an historic stone church built in the late 19th century, the North Grenville Archives, and a brickyard, the area consists mainly of farms and homes set in a mixture of farmland and cedar forest. Addresses in the community are either listed as RR #1, Oxford Mills or RR #5, Kemptville.

Kemptville Creek is a stream in the municipalities of North Grenville and Augusta, in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the Ottawa River drainage basin, is a right tributary of the Rideau River, and is under the auspices of the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.Kemptville Creek is 69 kilometres (43 mi) long and has a drainage basin of 456 square kilometres (176 sq mi). Portions of the drainage basin extend into other municipalities of Leeds and Grenville, such as Athens, Elizabethtown-Kitley and Merrickville–Wolford. The creek was historically referred to by the name South Branch of the Rideau River, until its name was changed to Kemptville Creek in 1908. However, the former name is still in use as of 2015.

CKVV-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting an adult hits format on the frequency of 97.5 MHz (FM) in Kemptville, Ontario. The station is branded as 97.5 Moose FM.

Area codes 613, 343, and 753 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for Ottawa and surrounding Eastern Ontario, Canada. Area code 613 is one of the 86 original North American area codes assigned in October 1947. Area code 343 was assigned to the numbering plan area in an overlay plan activated on May 17, 2010. Area code 753 was assigned as an additional overlay code for the numbering plan area, activated on March 26, 2022.

The Swords and Ploughshares Museum is a private military museum located south of the village of Kars, Ontario, Canada. The Museum is focused on a specific aspect of Canadian military history: the Citizen Soldier (the Militiaman and Reservist) at peace and at war. The Museum uses vehicles and artifacts to demonstrate how they could be adapted and used by Citizen Soldiers for both military and civilian purposes. For example, a Ram tank from World War II that was modified after the war to serve as a snowplow was a featured display at the Museum for many years.Amongst the artifacts and equipment that the Museum displays is a 1942 Bofors 40 mm Light Anti-Aircraft Gun which is maintained as a living monument and memorial for Canadian anti-aircraft gunners.

Rideau Valley Air Park (TC LID: CPL3) is a registered aerodrome located 3 nautical miles (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) south of Kars, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the shore of the Rideau River. The aerodrome has a single 1,800 by 100 ft (549 by 30 m) grass runway, and serves mainly ultralight and glider traffic.

The Burritts Rapids Bridge connects Donnelly Drive in Burritts Rapids to County Road 23 in North Grenville Township in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1897, and although it has been updated since then, it still has the original design. It is a cottaging site, which is swung by hand by the lockstaff from the nearby Burritts Rapids lock. The white clapboard building next to the bridge is a historical building which now houses the library, though it was originally the bridgemaster's house. The bridge underwent extensive renovations in 2018. The bridge was closed to vehicle traffic February 5, 2018. The bridge reopened Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

Burritts Rapids is a small village located on the Rideau River in eastern Ontario. The hamlet was named after Stephen Burritt, whose family was the first to settle in this area. At one time, the hamlet prospered due to its location on the Rideau Canal. The community straddles the river, so part is located in Rideau Township, now Rideau-Jock Ward in Ottawa, and part in North Grenville Township. There is a lock on the canal to bypass rapids here, the Burritts Rapids Bridge which crosses the canal and a stationary bridge which crosses the river.
