Burritts Rapids

The Burritts Rapids Bridge connects Donnelly Drive in Burritts Rapids to County Road 23 in North Grenville Township in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1897, and although it has been updated since then, it still has the original design. It is a cottaging site, which is swung by hand by the lockstaff from the nearby Burritts Rapids lock. The white clapboard building next to the bridge is a historical building which now houses the library, though it was originally the bridgemaster's house. The bridge underwent extensive renovations in 2018. The bridge was closed to vehicle traffic February 5, 2018. The bridge reopened Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

Rideau Correctional Centre was opened in 1947 as a minimum-security facility, with an integrated farm where inmates could learn skills to be plied upon their release. It was decommissioned in 2004, and subsequently demolished in 2013.

Merrickville–Wolford is a village-status municipality in Eastern Ontario, Canada, located in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. It spans both shores of the Rideau River. The current municipality was incorporated on January 1, 1998, by amalgamating the former village of Merrickville with the former township of Wolford. The Rideau Canal locks at Merrickville with three locks have a total lift of 25 ft (7.6 m). On the south side of the locks there is the old blockhouse, which has been restored by Parks Canada as a tourist site and museum operated by the Merrickville and District Historical Society. In the last two decades, the region has seen a boom in the local economy mostly related to increased tourism. It is famous for its local crafts people and artists.

Actons Corners is a community in the municipality of North Grenville, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, in eastern Ontario, Canada. An unincorporated place and compact rural community, it is located on County Road 43 (formerly provincial Highway 43) between Kemptville and Merrickville at the intersection with Actons Corners Road (north to the Rideau River) and County Road 25 (south to Oxford Mills). Except for an historic stone church built in the late 19th century, the North Grenville Archives, and a brickyard, the area consists mainly of farms and homes set in a mixture of farmland and cedar forest. Addresses in the community are either listed as RR #1, Oxford Mills or RR #5, Kemptville.

Marlborough Township is a former incorporated and now geographic township in eastern Ontario, Canada. Marlborough was located in the southern part of Carleton County. It was bounded to the south by Oxford Township, to the southwest by Montague Township, to the northwest by Goulbourn Township and to the northeast by North Gower Township. The Rideau River runs along the border with Oxford Township. It was established in 1791. In 1800, it became part of Carleton County and was incorporated as a township in 1850. The first family to settle in this area was that of Stephen Burritt, a United Empire Loyalist, in 1793. The township merged with North Gower Township in 1974 to become Rideau Township. Rideau, in turn, became part of the amalgamated city of Ottawa in 2001. Marlborough Township took its name from John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. According to the Canada 2016 Census, the Township had a population of 2,204. According to the Canada 2021 Census, this had increased to 2,368.

Rideau-Jock Ward (Ward 21) is a city ward located in Ottawa, Ontario. Rideau is an historic township in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located in the rural parts of the City of Ottawa, in the extreme south. Its eastern boundary is the Rideau River, its namesake. Smiths Falls-Montague (Russ Beach) Airport (IATA: YSH, ICAO: CYSH) is a registered aerodrome located about 3.5 nautical miles (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) east of the town of Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. The airport is operated by the Smiths Falls Flying Club, and is registered with Transport Canada. The Smiths Falls Flying Club operates a flight training unit with three Cessna 172 airplanes, and there is 100LL avgas available 24 hours via a self-serve credit card system. There are no landing, ramp or tie-down fees. Surface level aerobatics are frequently conducted over the paved runway 06/24.

North Grenville is a township in eastern Ontario, Canada, in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville on the Rideau River. It is located just south of Ottawa in Canada's National Capital Region. It was established on January 1, 1998, through the amalgamation of Oxford-on-Rideau Township, South Gower Township, and the Town of Kemptville. In 2003, a motion of the municipal council adopted the designation of 'municipality'. The largest community in North Grenville is Kemptville, with a population of 3,911 in the 2016 census, up from 3,620 in the Canada 2011 Census. It is located on the Kemptville Creek (historically South Branch of the Rideau River) approximately 56 km (35 mi) south of Ottawa, sitting midway between suburban Ottawa and the Ogdensburg–Prescott International Bridge along Highway 416.
